As for settings.. basically resolution, shadows, ambient occlusion, RT etc will lower the workload on the GPU more than the other settings...
On a laptop id target everything to medium and raise stuff 1 by 1 and see if you even notice the. Visual difference... If you don't and it costs you performance to run it higher then lower it back down.
RT off indeed...
DLSS is absolutely something that should be on especially on a mobile GPU. It uses way less resources to upscale a lower resolution frame than it does to render it native
DLSS Balanced should help quite a bit & you probably won't notice the difference v quality on a laptop screen
DLSS uses up to 10% GPU resources so it will make it run warmer but... (and this is a generic example) Rendering at 4k vs 1440p without DLSS could see a 40-60% reduction in GPU use.
1440p is 3.7 billion pixels vs 8.3 for 4k.. that's a huge difference in terms of resource use and heat generation so.. if he can use DLSS and doesn't have a quality objection then id always use it .. hell I have a 4090 in my PC and I always do
Thanks guys!
Do you even realize that 60 FPS is all you need to enjoy a game ?
