What's funny is Intel's default BIOS setting is "extreme", which I'm pretty will still cause these crashes in DX12 games. Setting it to "performance" might work. I just know setting Power Max and Short Power Max to 253 watts should fix this (maybe IccMax to 307A as well). You can also reliably test if you'll crash in DX12 games by running an AVX2 stress test in Intel Extreme Tuning Utility.
But yeah, the microcode fix alone won't solve crashing in DX12 games
One solution for me is to set windows power plan to "Power Saver" before the shader compilation and when is done, put it back to balanced/high performance.
Did you installed the latest motherboard BIOS with the 0x129 microcode update?
No! The first remedy is to check if the latest BIOS is installed with the 0x129 microcode update. That update has solved most, if not all, issues.
It's not an issue with their game, nor is it actually related to video memory. If you have a 13th/14th gen i7 or i9, you need to lower the power limits until it doesn't crash (253 watts has always worked for me, can probably work with more). Basically Intel ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up and now we have to deal with it
Really sad that this has to be the solution.... But this is a fix.
Do exactly as he says and it will work. (At least, it did for me)
I can confirm that the microcode update alone does not solve these crashing issues for everyone. Anyone with these CPUs should absolutely install that update, but power limits need to be lowered with these DX12 games in order to prevent crashes.
It's not a video card issue—it's a CPU issue that's been addressed by recent motherboard BIOS updates. The latest update (0x129 microcode) should provide considerable stability.
The TL;DR is that there's a bug in 13th and 14th gen Intel CPUs that causes them to draw significantly more voltage over time, increasing the minimum operating voltage (Vmin) needed for the processor to run. The microcode update addresses this by limiting the voltage to 1.55 V to prevent stability issues.

I highly recommend installing the latest BIOS with microcode 0x129 if you don't already have it.
