Streamer Guidelines
I can't say I agree with the streamer guidelines, particularly not being able to comment on China and Chinese policies. I have endless respect for the citizens of China, but their government is run by awful people who are set on an agenda of near-absolute control. The fact that they want to wipe history of events such as Tienanmen Square or will take down a game studio for simply having a parody drawing of their leader as Winnie the Pooh is indicative of a country that is not in a good place.

What's more is that I've played many Chinese-developed games, and none of them have been so forthright with their attempts at censorship of players' speech. I have played some where individual words or phrases will be blocked out in text chat, but sending a demand that streamers are not allowed to talk about subjects they care about is absurd. I wish my initial impression that perhaps this was a case of reverse psychology had turned out to be accurate, but considering some of the statements from at least one notable staffer, I'm no longer of that mind.

All that said, I also don't think it's helping to troll about things that are a matter of creative decision, like the races of the characters in the game. I don't see anything wrong with disliking the game because of it, but to call out the developers for not making the game you wanted seems remarkably narcissistic. If the messaging of the game revolved around race, that would be a different story, but as far as I can tell, people are upset about something that has no real bearing on anything in the context of the game or the story it tells. Boycott the game and spend your money on media made by minorities, women, and trans people, instead. It's when a developer tries to control what players can say about their game or the environment it exists within that I draw the line.

This may come as a shock but every powerful government is like this. In the US you can lose your career for expressing your political beliefs. In the Uk you can literally be jailed over a meme
Good. Stop giving your ♥♥♥♥ opinion on politics. I want to hear your opinion on the game not what you think of China. I can form that myself.

Yeah it soo rude when you not talking about politics of China while ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ playing VIDEO GAME, because I forgot that streamers are actually politicians in dusguise and their opinions should matter more than anything.

Major famous streamers are hired for agenda and public opinion.

You say it's censorship, but what's stopping you from talking about those things BEFORE or AFTER streaming the game? Say you finish your gaming session and move to Just Chatting, does the guidelines still apply? It doesn't seem like it.

Media doesn’t exist in a vacuum, guys. You can’t just pretend games and politics are totally separate, especially when it’s the developer dragging them together.

So what you're saying is that you can't enjoy a game and tell other people about your genuine opinion on the GAME without going into world politics?

Also no, the developer LITERALLY AND SPECIFICALLY STATED to not include politics in any way during the stream.

Based on this, you can't have an opinion on the upcoming Captain America game because its clearly an american war propaganda used to fight against the Nazis. Heck there is a literal comic about how Captain America punches Hitler in the face.

That list hasn't been confirmed as real, it's very possible that it is just part of anti-Chinese propaganda. Multiple people who got review or otherwise early copies say they never received anything like this. Why would the developer send these guidelines only to a few and not to everyone? It's very suspicious.

There is always a lot of negative propaganda around China in the west. For example years ago there was a story circulating that China had banned rap music. The outlets claiming that never retracted even after it was easily proven false, and there are Chinese rap artists.

It's literally you trying to drag them together, with false statements like these

So you confirm that media, including lots of games, are inherently political, that people have opinions on them, and that the developers LITERALLY AND SPECIFICALLY made the connection and sparked the debate about politics in the first place.

The list HAS been confirmed as real. It went only to sponsored streamers, not to reviewers who received early copies.
