Let's settle the matter of Sun Wukong's gender
I do not understand why people care so much about gender?

Sun Wukong, the Monkey King from Journey to the West, is depicted as male throughout the story. The original Chinese text consistently uses male pronouns for him, and other characters refer to him as a "he." Here are some key points that affirm his male identity:

Title: Sun Wukong is often called the "Monkey King" (猴王), a masculine title.
Behavior: His personality traits, like pride, aggression, and leadership, align with traditional male characteristics in Chinese literature.
Language: The text uses male pronouns ("他") and male-specific language when describing him.
Interactions: Other characters, like Xuanzang, treat and address him as male.
While Sun Wukong can shapeshift into various forms, his core identity in the narrative is male.

So, it is a monkey, and he is male. If you want to play as a female character, go play another game if the character's gender is a problem for you.

You can't settle it. those people have nothing in their mind but hate and anger because they failed and aren't who they wanted to be in life.

The character being male makes him relatable to literally 49% of the human population by gender alone but that isn't good enough for them.

They don't want the character to be relatable. they just want something to excuse why they are so angry all the time. without ever admitting they are mad at themselves.

Being male he can be relatable to Asian men, Black men, Hispanic men, White men. the list goes on

Being male he can also be related to, by anyone really without being male just because they look up to who he is and who he becomes. he got out of his own way and opened his eyes to see the world around him and those in it.

He chose to help others rather than be angry and care only about what he wanted and didn't get. and that actually helped him get what he wanted because he performed better as a team player.

Nobody actually cares. Anyone complaining is just farming clown points.
I agree, but FYI:
1. Monkey King is just a brutal translations of ’美猴王‘ where the original meaning character by character is: Beauty, Monkey, King. And '王' in Chinese don't only refer to male King. Queen also use this character.
2. 'He' or 'She' doesn't belong to traditional Chinese culture. In the time when "Journey to the West" is written (1560s), all human are referred as '他’. Which translates into 'he' only in modern time. This is because of the New Culture Movement happened in 1910s in China when scholars takes in western cultures and introduced '她‘, translated as 'She'.

Wukong is a male, there are other proofs in the novel, but not because he is a "king", or his pronoun is 'he'
