This is making a lot of casual people going in due to hype and the shiny graphics.
But this is nothing like Spiderman, Jedi Survivor, GOW or DMC because those games have only a few bosses that are mostly used are for on rail set piece moments and not as skill checks. You can also set those games in story mode if you are hard stuck and put it back later. This is not possible here. You either keep trying and trying, or quit.
General guideline for people still on the fence. If you go to Reddit, Discord or forums asking if the game is hard, you already figured it out and it probably not for you.
I have made this same mistake in the past with games and my first gut feeling was always correct in the end.
If your playing on PC get a console controller it much harder with mouse and keyboard just because of the number of different actions you can perform in the thick of combat.
Not all people play videogames to be good at it. Some play also for casual fun, stress relief after a 10 hour work day or other reasons. That is the reason why most games have difficulty options in them so everyone can mold them like they want.
I am just warning people thinking they are going to play a cinematic Sony story romp in story or easy mode with the occasional epic boss set piece are in for a rude awakening. Because this game is not and it can't be customized a la carte. (unless you use a trainer of mods of course).
A lot of people 'on the fence' are going in with the wrong expectations for this game because some reviewers keep quoting the wrong games as comparison making some people buy it and regret it after the first real boss in chapter 1.
It’s a bit like god of war in some ways but the closest game is Bloodborne difficulty but easier in the way you don’t lose progress when dying
This game does not have many annoying features of souls-likes such as loss of experience on death, dangerous traversal often leading to death, traps, enemy ambushes behind corners, bosses that can kill you in 2 hits, weight and stamina systems that hinder your game more than they enhance it. This is action game and it is better because of it.
One must-do suggestion to enjoy the game is to invest early into stamina reduction talents because later talent allows you to dodge without breaking your combo. This talent is absolute game-changer as it let you dance around bosses and dishing out maximum damage since the later hits and finishers of the combos are the main damage dealers. The game was getting bit repetitive before I got the talent but now it is absolute blast.
thank you for opinion, make up my mind finally and I think, saved myself some nerves, because I completed all GoWs, Spidermans and get a lot of fun. Normal difficulty setting was pretty ok for me, but I can't even scratch Souls and Elden past several even not bosses, just usual mobs.
Yep, I was hoping for something more easy but at least I can make my own difficulty with wemod :))
I don't mind cheating in a single player game.
No, not even close to God of War.
I finished GOW, Spider-Man’s, Bayonetta, Devil May Cry, Ghost Of Tsushima etc too on normal.
But I refunded this one cause this is way more like Elden Ring. You tickle the boss for 10 minutes, you miss two dodges and there goes your 100 percent health to zero.
If you like repeating stuff a lot, or finding out the right skill point setup for every boss and find the right boss order to level up this is for you. If you like sitting back and relax and watch a story unfold without major roadblocks and no settings but patience to overcome them…save yourself some money and frustration.
Is is 3 jumps where you have to keep holding (stamina check) and the the fourth thing is a HP check which triggers a cutscene and opens the final path to the end.
