[allegedly Game Science Rejected a 7,000,000 Dollar contract from Sweet Baby Inc. when being probed for DEI consultation for their first ever video game (BLACK MYTH WUKONG).]

As a response to this rejection of their service. an IGN journalist (Rebekah Valentine) dropped 3 seperate hit pieces on X about Game Science. Claiming that Game Science is a Sexist company. However these hit pieces contain maliciously mistranslated tweets that were meant to paint Game Science in a negative way.

To further fuel the fire, ScreenRant and Gamespot additionally doubled down in their reviews of BMW, referencing IGN's Hit piece on Game Science.

This is a clear Smear campaign from IGN against GS. As we know now. It failed miserably with Wukong hitting a Peak Player Count of 2.3 million players, in its first few opening days.

What are your thoughts about it? Is there news I missed?

Additionally here is the post from Pirate Nation that claims SBI attempted to Extort from GS. (credits to eric.) this is the most we as a collective could find on whether they even did this or not. It is the leading story and it hardly works as proof. but thats what we have.

Is there more than just 1 or 2 people making bad or misinformed opinions? I looked on IGNs official review and diversity/inclusivity isnt even mentioned and it was given a good score.

As GameScience’s debut action game, Black Myth: Wukong is mostly a great success, despite some major technical black marks and localization issues that are likely to cause some frustrations at launch. Combat is fantastic thanks to a great balance of careful resource management and lightning-fast, twitch-reaction gameplay that tested my skills as much as Elden Ring ever has, despite being a more traditional action game than FromSoftware’s style. Not only that, but there are a ton of exciting boss battles, a great variety of enemies, and the world they inhabit is an absolute treat for the eyes and ears. I know that screenrant and gamespot are the more aggregious offenders of citing the allegations and also docking points because of it.

game spot had a whole segment of their first look talking about the allegations

and screenrant proudly reviewed the game citing the reason for docking points was because of the sexist allegations

I hate that some of it has been deleted, but thats to be expected since this first popped up around a month ago and it was a boiling situation at the time.

To preface, I think its uncharitable to say I'm accusing SBI and IGN of anything. I'm more or less reporting on what I've seen and generalizing it into a post where people can discuss.
