NVidia Shadowplay not working with this game?

I'm trying to record my benchmark tests so I can do side-by-side comparisons of how the game looks with different settings (since apparently a 7900X and a 4090 aren't enough to get anywhere close to maxing it out at 4K). But every time I hit record, it instantly cancels and saves as a 0 second video.

I can use OBS instead, but I don't want to have to change the setup I currently use for streaming other games at 1080p.

Bump. To be clear, I'm talking about GeForce Experience's capture tool. This is usually a symptom of copy protection, but that would be REALLY weird for a game that was given out alongside new GPUs. So I feel like there has to be some other explanation.

I am using the Nvidia app and the recording works fine.

Bump. Same deal with the full game. I'd appreciate some actual suggestions on how to fix this instead of just "it works for me"

"Nvidia App" is the name of their new UI console for controling the GPU and its features, it replaces both GeForce Experience and old Control Panel.


Geforce Experience Shadowplay is bugged, and it's been bugged for number of months judging by how many of these reports keep poping up in various game forums.
It should not happen with the "App", if it does, report this to Nvidia since it¨s their bugged software.

And again: This is being reported in number of game-specific forums, and it's not the game's fault at all.

Their site says the App is still in beta, so it hasn't replaced GeForce Experience yet.

Anyway, I just updated the drivers (been checking for this every day since making the thread, and it only now showed up), and now it's working as intended.

Have a dual monitor setup, updated my graphics to the latest update to play Black Myth: Wukong. Performed a clean installation when updating to graphics. Naturally, uninstalls geforce experience and reinstalls it. First boot with Black Myth: Wukong, instant replay worked just fine and I even saved 5 mins of gameplay. No issues. As soon as I shut down and restarted my computer. Now every time I launch Black Myth: Wukong, instant replay replay turns off. I turn it back on but it does not show up in the corner.

Seems like updating from GeForce Experience to NVidia App via opting in to experimental features is the only way to fix this issue, which I also had with the old recording tool.

Did a few tests with it and indeed it works with Black Myth.

Update to the latest Game Ready Driver, August 20th, and shadowplay should be fine for this title.

(Not a beta driver.)

i have same issue too, shadowplay blinking and doesn't save instant replay.
newest driver installed: RTX 4080 SUPER | Ryzen 7 7800X3D | 32GB RAM

my issue fixed now:
use DDU to uninstall graphics card driver in safe mode
reinstall Geforce experience
now i can record!

I had the same problem. Could not record the game. I installed the studio-driver and afterwards i installed the game ready driver again. Now it works without problems.

u have to use the beta app ... all new drivers are optimised for it . geforce experience is obsolete. also sometimes a reset works
