What is Denuvo? (I am American)
I hear a lot of controversy over the "Remove Denuvo" thing.
Is this a Chinese anti-piracy/cheat third party enforcer? is it just another anti-cheat?
Do they collect data? whats wrong with it?
Keep in mind I am an American and have no idea what goes on over seas, specifically in the Chinese game culture.
I really want this game but have no idea why people keep saying "wait until they remove denuvo."
I have no clue what it means other than a quick web search.
Please help me understand.

Denuvo software is developed by Denuvo Software Solutions, an Austrian company (NOT Chinese) and its anti-piracy protection for video games.

Is this a Chinese anti-piracy/cheat third party enforcer? no
is it just another anti-cheat? anti-tamper
Do they collect data? Whats wrong with it? probably not but it does consume a lot of CPU usage, rather unecessarily to the point where it is frustrating.

Denuvo Anti-Tamper is a DRM system used by many companies in a lot of games.
The main problem with Denuvo is that it requires the game to always be online as it collects a lot of data to send it periodically and causes excessive CPU and HDD usage that causes significant performance decrease. (and in some cases maked the games unplayable)
Denuvo is licensed by the game companies over a period of time and when that period expires they have to pay to renew it or remove it. In all cases when Denuvo was removed, the games saw a radical performance uplift.
Long story short is a anti-piracy solution which punishes the people who don't pirate it.

denuvo = won't buy

It's some strong encryption developed to protect the game from being pirated for the first few weeks at least. However, it lowers performance in many games and degrades the experience in action games. That's why people were angry about game companies using Denuvo for only a slight increase in sales but degrades experience.
The benchmark tool already includes Denuvo so it already reflects the performance with Denuvo.

My friend, you don't have to worry too much, the quality of the game is definitely guaranteed, as a player, you can enjoy it with confidence

First off, using hdd for games today is a bad idea, especiallly considering how graphically demanding this game is. Even on a nvme/sata ssd, it takes a good few seconds just to load the demo. (i say sata ssd because unless game is directstorage optimized, you're looking at time between load being in milliseconds)

And secondly, it hardly uses any cpu at all. Get your facts straight before you spout BS.

The real problem with Denuvo is it shackles video games to authentication servers and when they're deactivated your purchased game goes poof. In recent years some games have had it removed after the fact but not all.

Sorry I wrote HDD instead of storage device, or should I listed every type of storage device so a brainless toddler like you might get the point?
If you where at least a bit documented on the matter you would know of the issue of denuvo reducing the lifespan of ssd's a few years back.
Showing an article from 5 years ago is hardly any proof comparing with all the games that have documented performance issues because of denuvo and a few that where unplayable because of it.
You should get your brain straight and stop shoveling BS in your mouth.

I guess the OP wasn't interested in understanding Denuvo, just wanted to justify the purchase.

Denuvo tanks some of your performance, no matter how good or bad your rig is. It can be responsible for stutters and all sorts of crap.
There is a constant debate going on, that this is untrue, but it has been debunked with the devs even implementing this DRM in their free benchmark tool. They did that, because they know of performance issues connected to Denuvo and wanted a "fair" test, so that the performance of the benchmark is on par with the game.

Another downside is, that if you're offline when Denuvo checks, it locks you out of your game. When their servers are down for maintenance, etc... you're down.

Denuvo is there to protect the publishers economy at the cost of your performance and accessibility.
You don't really own games on steam, since you cannot resell them as with phyiscal copies, you get a worse performance with an already high demanding game which potentially could lock you out, even if you're online all the time.
All that for 69.99/79.99 which is a steal XD...

Denuvo = no buy if you have any senses left.
