How many Yaoguai Chiefs are there?
I'm in chapter one, from the look of it there are only 4 of them, and I am still missing one, is the Wandering Wight supposed to be one of the Yaoguai Chiefs? I defeated him already but there's no entry about him whatsoever.

The answer is: A lot, too many to bother counting.

Like 8-16 per chapter in a 6 chapter game. Chapter 1 is a bit shorter and has less, at only 5 total.

For Wandering Wight I believe you have to beat the other version, too, before it shows. First, beat Wandering Wight (as you did) as it will vanish after you beat the other. Then ring the three bells and be teleported to a secret area (every chapter has a secret area).

In the secret area loot the armor and equip it (iirc just the chest piece? or might have been helm?) because any zombies you kill in the immediate next boss you are about to fight will heal you making the fight super easy.

Defeat that boss and leave through the standard exit, don't warp (if you even can warp at that point, I forget). This will allow you to collect the Fire Cloak Vessel for the final boss, and general focus regeneration perk for any boss, from the tree right outside where the third bell and was and all those people died.

Should have the journal entry at that point. Btw, the Wandering Wight is largely considered the most powerful spirit so a good one to upgrade. With Cloud Step upgrades it can gain crit chance on its single powerful hit, plus some armor sets like the starting Pilgrim Set, can generate a ton of attack damage to help it hit for absurd damage when used right. Good stagger effect, too.
