Black Myth: Wukong

Black Myth: Wukong

The latest update has made Black Myth Wukong unplayable on the RTX 5090.
On top of the Nvidia driver issues we now have an update that has totally destroyed the experience for this game. Extreme Shader Compilation Stutter, screen flickering, 3-4 second freezes, crashes, audio drops and worse graphic fidelity. This game has been uninstalled, reinstalled, verified files, driver changes after executing DDU, running default clocks on ram, CPU, GPU and finally making sure all temps are cool.

Nvidia Driver 576.26 did not fix this game. Previous drivers are no better because I've tried them. I have 4 Nvme drives and all are fine while running at their full speeds. Other large file AAA games that are not affected by Nvidia's drivers are running well.

Zotac Amp Extreme Infinity 5090
Ryzen 9950X3D
Gskill Trident Z DDR5 6400 mhz
Asus X670E-A Motherboard
Seasonic 1600 Watt Prime PX

Game settings are all Cinematic at 4k resolution with Framegen on 2X.

The game was running well before the latest update that included Multi Frame Generation.

I even downloaded and tried to play the previous version of Wukong from Steam DB. That didn't work at all because the game won't boot up. I'm about ready to throw in the towel.

Can other 5090 owners please your recent experiences? If you can it's much appreciated and thanks.

Yea, I am on new game plus. I use Nvidia quality mode with every thing on max. Getting 40 Frames in most parts especially after chapter 2. So far the game crashed 3 times. Final Boss fight chapter 2 and final boss fight chapter 3. One more crash in chapter 2. This happens after a long session though. Usually after 1 hour. GPU Temp was below 80 and everything normal. I never got crashes on my first playthrough. But so far in my second I got 3.
Is it this broken? Just bought a 5060ti and looking for stress it with this game. But the price is steep and I don’t want an useless until patched game

I just tried this solution from user RedHongKong and it worked. The thread is called "dxd12 driver crash".

I haven't tried to play the game using 576.26 or 576.15.
The last time I tried to play the game using 576.02 with a 5090 and 12900K, it crashed my system so bad it wouldn't post properly and took several attempts to boot.
I've had no issues since playing a bunch of other games.
I'm not touching the game again until I hear from others it actually works.

The latest NVIDIA drivers helped the game crashing when wukong transforms, but another solution that worked for me was to disable VRR (Through windows and Nvidia control panel) then launch the game and turn the settings to max, no frame gen, 100% DLLA, all cinematic, then drop them down to lowest quality with DLLS Ultra performance, then put back the settings you were previously using that worked. Last step is when in game ctrl+alt+esc and in task manager find the game and set priority to high.

Thats what fixed it for me. 5090 Vanguard SOC, 9800x3d. 64gb G skill Z neo cL30 6000
572.83 are the only stable drivers period for 5XXX, anything else and you are literally risking burning out your hardware.
