Flickering but only in dark areas

I turned off frame generation which reduced massively the flickering but still get some (mainly in dark areas like chapter 4). It's not that my entire screen flickers, but rather just the dark parts of my screen. Playing with locked 120 fps (5070 ti, 9800x3d, 2k res), so fps shouldn't be the problem I think. I tried turning down different settings and it seemed that turning shadows down to low almost completely stopped the flickering, but kinda the game looks bad without it.

So I had the same problem, weird flickering. Turns out it was just a bad setting in the nvidia control panel. Go to "Setup G-Sync." Under option 3. Display specific settings, uncheck the box "Enable settings for the selected display model" This fixd the issue for me. I was getting flickering in pretty much every game I was playing. I thought it might be my display cable, but this was the problem.

I disabled G-Sync in the Nvidia app and it works fine since then
