GOTY - Black Myth Wokong Vs Astro Bot
I very rarely post but feel like I needed step in with all the arguments and click bait posts regarding what should have won GOTY, I thought I would provide the only opinion that matters (to me!) on the subject. So my GOTY is:

1. When I want to play a cool: (almost) Souls-like: Black Myth Wukong
1. When I want to play an awesome platformer: Astro Bot
1. When I want to play a a great turn based jrpg: Metaphor ReFantazio
1. When I want to play a gorgeous FFVII game: FFVII Rebirth
2. Everything else

Its funny how people seem to think that by some game award showing giving the award to a game they don't agree with, somehow invalidates their opinion? You don't need validation for your own preferences. Someone else's opinion doesn't invalidate yours.
Why cant people understand the difference between Subjective Vs Objective, or even if they can, somehow still get butthurt because someone else doesn't share their opinion.
Perhaps they aren't aware most posts are trolling and its their first day on the internet? I dunno...

When someone tells me Astro Bot is better than Black Myth Wukong - thats true, for them. A true subjective fact. They can't be wrong.
When someone tells me the earth is flat, that is objectively wrong.

The only exception to this rule is Marmite. When people say Marmite is gross - they are objectively wrong - FACT.

For me the community is equally important and after asking which one to get, I've been met here with toxicity and accusations of being a troll. BM:W can now be the greatest game I would have ever played; but I will never know because this community already tainted it for me.

GOTY's are overrated. Just play the game and move on to the next one that ends up catching/keeping your interest.

Too many people want to think that what they say is the only truth and fact out there. They want to seem like they know it all, are right (even when they are wrong) etc. That is the world, sadly.

I am just curious to see if this game (Blackmyth) will go on sale for the Winter Sale (starts tomorrow) or not. Are the Devs that money hungry that they can't drop the price?

Thats a shame. Its always best to form your own opinion if you can, relying on anyone else on the internet is usually always a bad idea. I dont usually post or take part in any community activities because of how toxic it is.

At least you can try it for a few hours and get a refund if you dont enjoy it. Thats what I would do. No reason to miss out because of others.

Agreed! Its just a shame how immature and stupid most communities are. Its frustrating but its just the way things are I guess. What I will say is I spend more time playing and enjoying games than I do in forums, even though I often read them and its so depressing how vile and toxic people can be when it should be a celebration of games and a discussion between people who have a common intrest. Oh well...

Fingers crossed it does go on sale as it would be great for other people to get to experience it. I imagine it would do quite well from the extra sales too tbh.

I gave you a real answer on your topic, if you want.

As for OP, definitely agree. I just get triggered everytime i see people here spitting on other games they didn't even play to, just because they didn't get a validation of their preferences being the absolute truth.

But when expressed politely and with the actual subjective thoughts (and not expressed as the general truth), any opinion is worth reading and interesting to know.

I wished people were aware that it's okay if it's their own opinion, with their own words and feelings, and that people not agreeing with it respectfully won't make it less worth.

No one will suddenly lose their opinion for no reason by actually listening and trying to understand what a different opinion means and why, it will actually make one wiser and can only help one understand more precisely why he feels this way.
Differences can only make two people better when trying to understand each others.
