first playthrough and l've just discovered that if l want to change the staff i need to recraft it again using materials again...isn't it a bad system??armors are permanent while staffs are not just why?

I agree that this is some BS. I'm guessing you're in chapter 2 and don't have any refined iron sand left. Fortunately, you can get plenty of the stuff in chapter 3.

At least the Will cost is substantially discounted if you've crafted the staff before.

l'm in chapter 3...l've reached a place called the new thunder temple ... yeah l've seen that the cost after you craft it the first time is very less but it's still BS

Yeah its kinda silly, should have them all unlocked once you do it once.
It doesnt matter much though in reality, you generally just change the staff to something else completely, not swap between and forth in different upgrades for the same staff. Probably happens once in the game to some people, just where you are now, and later you dont even theoritically want to swap the upgrades anyway.
