The game is basically a linear boss rush that's missing UI features; bare bones plot; simplistic combat; etc.
But I will give them credit that for an inexperienced studio on a relatively small budget they made a pretty good game.
I agree with you. Besides the graphic, the rest is lacking / plain vanilla,
BM is not my favourite game Made In China. That honour goes to Gunfire Reborn. But it is an extremely enjoyable game and may be China's first real international breakthrough hit.
Hoping to see more great games based on Chinese mythology, which is a lot more refreshing than bog standard western fantasy.
I don't think the game is just a linear "boss rush", that's very typical shallow complain, there are many hidden places, hidden boss and hidden quests to find out despite some invisible walls issue. The story plot is interesting enough to hook me and most people up, the combat feels smooth and intense enough with many transformations and magics. And the graphic, the music, the animations, the art designs, characters designs,...etc are all top notch. And I don't see the game miss any UI feature, you're the first and only one I've ever seen so far who has such peculiar complain.
