This fixed my stutter issues completelly
I am using 3070ti and I had insane stutter, and I couldn't figure out how to fix the issue, until i tried FSR and frame generation on. I have been playing this game since beginning again, and there is no stutter at all, I am at chapter 3 at the moment, game works perfectly.

So my setup is:
All high
2k 60 fps
Vsync on
FSR and frame gen on.

Game works 60 fps without issues. This is the only thing that fixed my problem, so hopefully it helps you too.

Rest of specs:
i12600K
32GB ram (XMP on - 3200 MHz)

This is interesting. Here are my specs:
  • Processor: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12600K (16 CPUs), ~3.7GHz
  • Memory: 32GB
  • DirectX Version: DirectX 12
  • Graphics Card name: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti
  • Dedicated Memory: 11GB
  • Current Mode: 2560 x 1440 (32 bit) (165Hz)

Previous settings in game (which had a massive amount of stutter in spots such as the cave underneath Tiger's arena and the mountains area (won't say because spoilers):

Before

    Super Resolution Sampling
  • Super Resolution = 75
  • Super Resolution Sampling = DLSS
  • Frame Generation = On

    NVIDIA Full Ray Tracing
  • Full Ray Tracing = On
  • Full Ray Tracing Level = Very High

    Detailed Graphics
  • Very High (all settings underneath are the same)

After - changes in Bold

    Super Resolution Sampling
  • Super Resolution = 65
  • Super Resolution Sampling = TSR
  • Frame Generation = On

    NVIDIA Full Ray Tracing
  • Full Ray Tracing = On
  • Full Ray Tracing Level = Medium

    Detailed Graphics
  • Very High (all settings underneath are the same)

Switching to TSR seemed to create a significant difference as even setting the Full Ray Tracing to Medium and reducing the Super Sampling Resolution did not make a difference.

I'll try FSR to see if I notice a difference. Granted, beyond the two notable areas mentioned above, I've had virtually zero stutter except during some cutscenes throughout the entire game.

I literally have no stutter with these settings, so I think it will work for you as well. You can probably even use very high, I didn't try. Supersampling is at 75 as well I think. But yeah FSR does affect a bit picture quality, but I don't notice much difference, however without it I have issues and it still looks good.

But if it works good for you, no reason to change it.

Btw I never had massive stuttering, this is fix for that annoying stutter when fps drops to 58, 59. Well not it doen’t happen.

It does, I am at chapter 3 no issues at all. Before that there was so much stutter. I am glad I helped at least one person!

I think it’s just ray tracing tbh. I think the DLSS / FSR is not the culprit.

Only I have issue with on RTX medium is the reflections on the water are bugged (it’s all blurry)

Well that is what fixed my issue at least. I am not using ray tracing.
