Why no map?
Why map is not in the game? I am on second chapter and completely lost where to go and what to explore. I have 5 ways I can explore now, and all seem very important.

While there is no IG map, there is a map you can use online. It's not perfect by any means (chapters 5 and 6 aren't done yet for example), but it will help: https://mapgenie.io/black-myth-wukong/maps/chapter-3

It's a game design choice to incentive you to explore everything and be extra careful on what's around you plus it's for immersion your character just like the the Souls game's is their first time exploring the world.

Getting hit by invisible wall is quite an immersion i'd say

The game world is actually quite small compared to modern games. Most veterans of Souls games or older games in general are used to playing without a map and formulating mental maps of the level/location. If you need a map then there is no shame in it and use one of the fan map posted above.

so you explore and enjoy the graphics more. When there is no map, you look at the structures and game graphics as reference instead.

I am not sure if you already encouter a game that is map reliant and you just end up looking at the minimap all of the time instead of looking and the game objects?

I do enjoy the graphics and how the world is created a lot, and live exploring it. It is one of the best, if not the best games in that regard. But it also can be hard to keep track of everything.

I know it not Souls Like, more like GoW or DmC, but except Elden Ring, in all Souls Like, there is no map!
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

there are two mods in nexusmods. One adds a map toggle and the other a minimap.
If you really cannot take it anymore, you should consider the SimpleMap mod

I can take it, It just get a bit annoying, especially when you dont want to miss anything. The answer above explains why there is no map.
But still ,would be a nice feature. May be later, I will install the mod. But now now.

100% agree. I actually surprised myself with how I started remembering where to go based on landmarks and the chapters landscape.

If you are already lost in chapter 2 , I'm sure you will enjoy chapter 3 with no map.

If you also lost in chapter 3, I’m sure you will enjoy chapter 4 with no map
