Noob question about those dudes with a lamp thingy on their head

Hi, I wonder if any experienced players can help me. Is there any way to find out how many of those Lamp head dudes that I have killed? I died so many times trying to cross those wooden beam that I have lost count. I know that each time only two appear and only show up for 3 minutes or so. And do they respawn? I read that I need to kill 9 of them in order to get some secrect mission or something like that. Many thanks for your help in advance.

Not sure of any way to find out for sure but they can be found easily when the music starts.

4 on lower shrine level 4 on upper shrine level and 1 after u reach the open area and jump down the ledge to reach a secret area.

Nope they don't respawn. after killing the 9th, u get a lantern curios.

I think they all appeared at the same time but you only got time to kill two, at most 3 of them.

I'm sure 90% people missed this hidden quests and I also missed it.
