how so?
If you are a fan of Spellweaver than Golden Long Staff simply doesn't stand a chance compared to the crit damage potential Spider Celestial Staff allows. You need that crit chance and the crit potential will completely wipe the floor with Golden Long's slight attack advantage, especially when you factor how much of a % increase it is over your already decent base attack (85 Spider + 10 foundation vs 105 + 10 Golden) means Golden Long isn't providing anywhere near the % total DPS/burst increase a crit build is (in fact, it isn't even achieving 50% of it before factoring passive thunder). This is true even when not using Spellweaver, but once Spellweaver is used (or Pilgrims + Running Charged smash skill tree branch upgrades) Golden Loong is loong gone in the dust.
Now, if you are a fan of Pillar stance then the other points don't even apply to you nearly as much because you're spending much of your time using the charged pillar and less basic attacks. Further, I've read the Thunder proc from the 3-4 focus charged causes a thunder resistance debuff meaning later thunder procs do a bit more damage (supposedly it "Might" work on the initial proc too applying before the dmg calculation but may require testing to verify). If these points appeal to you then it may be worth considering. After all, you can't use running to build up from Pilgrim armor's huge bonus attack and I don't even think (but haven't tested to confirm) the charging perks in left smash skill tree benefit pillar/thrust. You care less about basic attacks, too, so you see more uptime from the thunder tick due to more charging attacks than spamming regular attacks. However, if you find you use regular attacks very frequently than you would still want Spider Celestial Staff even in Pillar stance usage because crits still benefit it UNLESS the staff % dmg increase also applies to basic attacks done during pillar stance active (I'm not sure on that one, but super easy to test... the problem is that crits will obviously severely outpace it using Spider Celestial Staff even if it does include the % to basic attacks when set to pillar stance with Golden Loong so you end up still needing to either spam Pillar charged 3-4 focus very frequently or it is just a bad choice).
Note all of this is literally not factoring the Spider Celestial Staff's poison passive, which further amplify its value on top of things and there are some powerful poison boosting stacking you can use to reduce poison you take, curios to boost poison damage (can get multiple), spirits that boost crit chance or poison dmg while poisoned, etc. Of note, I don't recommend focusing on poison effects that boost poison dmg, itself, though because this impacts you from what I've heard causing you to take more dmg as well as the enemy per poison tick (haven't tested that part myself to confirm) which isn't a good trade off.
Overall, though, as you can see for obvious reasons most will want the Spider Celestial Staff.
