I struggled against yellow loong across 3 separate streams. Once I finished chapter 5 and got the good beatin' stick, I suddenly dealt absurd damage and clowned on the ♥♥♥♥♥♥. Felt good lol
fan -> doing full combo until cc stops then stun -> combo until break -> fight normally until his 2nd phase begin the aggresive skillset (around 30%) -> fan again to cc him -> combos until fan stops -> Tiger form with parry to charge focus -> R2 + Square to transform skill -> all the dmg you can -> morph to end.
(i made it when i reached act 6 cause i dint kill cyan loong so fight didn't pop :c)
this is a good strategy. i managed to get him to 1/4 of his health but still couldn't beat him. his berserk mode is too brutal. non stop.
You can cloud step if you cannot take the heat of his combo, esp when he is almost dead and doing some really crazy things. Go all out, even resorting to item buffs for more edge against him. Would also be nice to cure shock status because thats how he is able to suddenly down you, it massively reduces your defense.
Dudes got 3 normal shot kill, 2 special shot kill and 1 insta kill, + seven - eight attack long combos, on the other hand if you slip up even once, youre done for.
Recommend skipping for later.
1. The fight starts with slow tempo, so try to get as much health as possible so you can save a lot of resources (mana, hp, skills, ...)
2. There's an item in secret area in chapter 4 (it's meant to be used against final boss). It adds additional damages as long as you keep a good distance
3. According to a topic on reddit, you should keep a "long enough" distance and use Thrust stance. it does help making more damages to boss but character gets less damages (My Engish is not good enough but I'm sure you can feel this after a few tries).
4. UPGRADE YOUR DRINK. Yes the coconut wine will regents a lot of health (when i played, I got 46% instead of 33). Ofc combine with good gourd (or upgraded gourd), I had 9 charges so it HELPS for this such long and hard fight
5. Play as a summoner. A friend told me that this one is OP. I tried and yes it worked perfectly. Spend sparks for this one made a lot of damages (could be up to 50% if you play good enough). Remember call all clones before using immobize (and try to make as much damages as possible before calling this one, The lower health of the boss, the harder the fight is. So this summon skill is the key of the fight)
6. Save transformation until the boss uses his "ultimate".
thanks! i finally beaten him. he's the 2nd last boss i attempted before the end chapter 4 boss. yes i beaten all optional bosses including the secret area. it's still so tough even i'm already overpowered. i'm using golden armor and the Spider Celestial Staff stacking critical.
i'm also using the thrust stance strategy to deplete his health to 60% before using any immobilize and pluck of many. however, i'm using a different spirit and transformation. i used the macaque transformation and spec to max frost damage and the falcon hermit spirit. maybe the macaque and falcon hermit is the wrong strategy but i still beat it when i came back overpowered but still very tough.
i kinda love the Spider Celestial Staff as it has high critical chance. however now i can craft the loong staff which has higher attack than the spider celestial staff. should i go with the loong staff instead of spider celestial staff?
