Scaling of game NG+3 onwards
i have enjoyed this game immensely and therefore played til NG+3. just completed NG+3 yesterday after being stuck at last boss for a week. currently stuck at NG+4 White Clad Noble. it got me thinking, since around half way through NG+3, i have already felt that upgrades have reached a plateau(max stats and max level with max armour upgrades), the difficulty level sky rocketted. its either u dont get hit at all or u get almost get one shot by bosses. does that mean that u have to be a master in the game already to be able to play NG+4 and above? btw i did NG+2 onwards with full defence BK set. maybe it has really come to the point where i just need to gitgud.

About to finish NG+3 myself and I don't use defense builds and no medicine. I'm guessing by the rate of scaling difficulty NG+4 and NG+5 can be done at a similar difficulty to NG+3 while using medicine and a defense build. NG+10 videos show that not all bosses 1 shot. They just do it on their moderate/heavy attacks.

u might have to stack some damage reduction in higher NG runs

i think the difficulty rise all the way till NG+6 (after that its just the same)

i might have exagerrated a lil, they dont always oneshot. but they hit like a truck even when im using BK/Fortune's favour with DI staff. then i guess the defence build will just have diminishing returns as the NG goes higher. gotta fight fire with fire. they hit like a truck. we gotta hit like a bigger truck.

i tried full defence build with BK set (total 741 defence)or Fortune's Favour set(total 888 Defence) with ball for the 5% dmg reduction. WindTamer Vessel, Curios: Gold Sun Crow with Jade Moon Rabbit and 3x Gold Spikeplates. still gets floored. if i try going a damage build, i die even faster :steamsad:
redhongkong Sep 27, 2024 @ 5:40am
u can try
wind tamer(-48 or -50% i forgot)
yin yang upper armor (-20%)
the bajie armor has 2piece -20% reduction after transformation /spirits calling(u wanna use short cd spirite with this build) good for ur foot and hand piece armor
redhongkong Sep 27, 2024 @ 5:43am
theres also soaks give u -10% reduciton, u can stack 3 if u really need them.

I destroyed white clad noble NG+3 on first try just using cloud step and Wukong Stance charged attacks.
Also had to use strand once on second phase and transformation to save myself.

I don't know for you guys but Wukong Stance is just OP, I also I just defeated tiger vanguard yesterday doing the same cheesy tactic.

I assume I will be stuck on the final boss for ages too, just like I was on my NG+2....

it depends how skillful u r with all the dodge and iframe skills

average player like me would wanna go for dmg reduction build just in case.

skillful player like thaidevilgamer95 would just go for dmg output. since they just dodge like 99% of the incoming attack.

wow nice. i couldnt get my head around the combos in wukong stance tho. cos i rely heavily on resolute counter counterflow. in wukong stance the combos change?

The fully charged heavy attack where you fly in the air and do 3 consecutive massive hits from the sky is what I use the most. On top of that, you can hide with cloud step and charge your attack, and use the massive range of this special attack to your advantage.

Also in this stance you get a passive 25% dmg reduction bonus, a damage boost and a big boost to your attack range. Totally worth it in my opinion.

There is a reason why once activated, it only last 60 sec. It would be too cheesy otherwise.

I'm on NG+3 chapter 5. Been using that secret armour from chapter 6 and the dark iron staff. Stacked 3 of those crit demon heads and using Tiger's Acolyte. Aside from Whiteclad Noble, Yellow Loong and Hundred Eyed Daoist, I haven't had a lot of problems with bosses. Thrust stance/Spellbinder with full charge I'm doing 8,000 damage. Melting bosses at times but I'm sure with Erlang and Broken Shell I will thave to go back to the build I previously used which was the Golden Armour w/wandering head.
