Can someone please explain the final part of Chapter 3?
What is the role of that evil monkey? Why did it show up in the final fight inside the bottle / jar? How did Baijie end up in that bottle / jar? Why Wukong transformed into an evil monkey with wings temporarily before fighting Yellowbrow for the second time?

You spawn into the snow area, and as you move on, you fight the "Macaque Chief." Remember this guy. Afterward, you make your way to the lake and see "Buddha" at the frozen lake house. Then, you fight the dragon (Kang-Jin Loong). After defeating it, you move on and reach the pagoda, which is essentially a multilayered prison.

Inside, you meet the Third Prince, who came from a distant land with four captains to investigate what Yellowbrow was up to. He ended up losing and got thrown into the prison, while his four captains were used and abused — long story short. He sends you on a quest to put them out of their misery. You can find the Void Captain in the prison and face the obvious boss at the top.

After that, you travel to the Warding Temple, where you meet Baijie, who’s talking to the human form of the dragon from earlier. I believe Baijie was trapped in that saucer-looking thing by Yellowbrow, because that’s who the dragon lady follows. After defeating her, you meet Wukong’s old friend Baijie. Then, you take a ride on Mr. Turtle to the shore of Bitter Lake.

Speeding things up here — the Macaque Chief was once an ally of Wukong during the journey, but he was one of the lower-ranking homies. After Wukong passed, the Macaque Chief struggled because he was a nobody, and Yellowbrow tempted him to join as one of his chiefs. As for Baijie ending up in the jar, you’re left to assume that at some point after separating, he gets nabbed by Yellowbrow.

Regarding Wukong turning into the evil monkey, my assumption is that Yellowbrow tempted the main character. To sum it up: Yellowbrow was seeking power and wanted Buddhahood. That’s why, when you meet him in that little gazebo, he’s shape-shifted into the form of the little Buddha kid. What does a crazed weirdo with a cult do? Recruit damaged people, hence Kang-Jin, the Macaque, and the other chiefs.
