Should i craft the bull king set?

Bull King Set needs 2 playthroughs if i remember right.

I use a fully upgraded pilgrim set in NG4 and it's fine...

I felt the Bull King set was the best defensively in the game. I used part Bull King set, part Iron Set (including the gloves) because I relied heavily on rock solid in my first playthrough.

You can only craft part of the set in NG1 though as you need bullsteel or whatever and you can't get enough for the whole set in one playthrough.

craft the staff 1st... you can replace the iron bull armor with the secret armor set. on NG+2, assuming you have awaken all 6 relics, the secret armor you get from chapter 6 will have a higher defense than iron bull set.

i haven't go chapter 6 yet. also i have beaten all 5 secret area. so i think i'm eligible to fight the secret boss. so should i proceed to chapter 6 or i can take on the secret boss already?

if this is your 1st place through, i advice to not fight erlang 1st.. just procced to complete the game. afterward, continue the game, beat erlang and beat the final boss again for the true ending. only after that, you start NG+1.

i'm confused. if complete the game can you still continue and beat erlang and beat the final boss again? yes it's my first playthrough.

The bull king isn't the best defensive imo. If you use the dark staff then it's the set you get in chapter six that's not upgradable. You have to wear the complete set but it makes defense higher than bull king and offense higher than bull king with dark staff.

yes, the game doesnt end as long as you dont start new game +.. you just continue before you enter the final boss area, this will allow you to complete anything you miss. you can also fight the final boss as many times as you wish because of this.

You can't defeat Erlang based on your armor alone...

The fight against Erlang is completely stupid.

First you have to find out that you can destroy his protective shield with the Wind Tamer. And if you do it at the wrong time, you might have 5 seconds to deal damage to him before his shield refreshes... That's annoying

Phase 2 (4 kings) is unnecessary, looks like a modern QTE

I found the upgraded pilgrim set matched my play style.

fight Erlang BEFORE you fight the final bosses but AFTER you have the full Wukong set and Jingubang. You could fight him after.. but it makes no sense in the story flow. So pretty much after you get the Wukong staff Jingubang - go find Erlang.

I think Bull, wukong, the red 1 (forgot the name yaksha or something) are the highest in damage/defense. Only use Bull if you don't mind not being able to perfect dodge. A bit weaker, but if you can dodge properly then I would also recommend the armor set that lowers QI cooldown so you can spam the better ghosts more frequently. Until I was at Erlang i only used the QI set so I can vouch for its effectiveness.
