how to unlock the slot next to weapon slot?

the slot next to the weapon still showing unlocked, I'm fairly advanced in the game and still didn't unlock it, should I just keep continuing with the story? or is there anything I'm missing?

just keep going, u can always claim whats missing in NG+ if u really miss anything

don' think i'll be doing NG+, I like the game but it's not worthy

NG+ is what really get the game going, since many weapon get unlocked. thats where u get to really try 2nd and 3rd stance. NG+++ is where true wukong stance kicks in

and its atually faster in NG+ as u already know how to fight them, it wont take that long anymore

It's the vessel slot, you get one of them each in ch.1, 2 and 4's secret area as well as at the end of chapter 5. They're fairly situational active use items which mostly just serve to make the bosses at the end of each chapter easier and also give small passive buffs.
