There are zero fun boss fights in this game.
Kind of disappointing that so much of the game is fighting a health-bar... I am not finished with the game yet, but, so far three chapters in, and not one fight was actually fun.

when someone able to dodge perfectly and drink no gourd thru out the fight, they feel the fun in it.

my expectation are lower than that. since i dont play action games that much . as long as im able to perfectly dodge and/or counter 75% of the attacks, i would feel proud already.

this is exactly the same as music rythm game players wanna hit perfect on every note.

at the end, its their global score position matters the most.

That’s your opinion. Most players (millions) would disagree. This game has some design/implementation issues like camera and input lag/detection. But the bosses are for most part some of the most unique designs with rarely 2 bosses sharing same move sets etc.

If you’re frustrated at dying constantly then chances are harder ARPGs aren’t for you.

I though Wondering Write and Elder Jinchi were pretty fun. I like guangmo ok. Black Wind King was cool. I'm not out of chapter one yet. I've lost to Black Wind Bear a couple of times so far. Sadly, both on first phase.

this game lack some good tutorial. i think i figured out how to play this game when i finished 2nd chapter. probably burned like 40 hours into the first two chapters struggling all the way...

then i start a new save and able to kill most boss in 5-15mins with eveyrthing i learned.

The bosses have cool designs and animations, but the fights themselves get boring because the developers seem obsessed with showing off the animations. The way the game plays just forces you to be passive and sit through a 5 minute dance routine before it's your turn to do something, and with some of the bosses when it's your turn to do something they just dodge it and start up another 5 minute dance routine.

Add the fact that your own moveset is very basic and restrictive, and it makes for a really boring action game. The people who like the gameplay are the people who like the fact that souls games only have 2 buttons; dodge and attack. People who like action games want to do combos; transitions; cancels; etc. They want cool tech and opportunities to use it.

That gives me some hope, I've got about 15 hours in so far, and that includes a couple restarts after an hour or so. So, about 13 hours on my current save.

yeah, the bosses are mechanical and it seems more scripted and rhythmic than any flow in combat being affected by the player.

There definitely are very nice bosses and very bad bosses mechanically.
Visually I loved all of them so far, u can't lie game looks very good and bosses do feel unique it's just that some choices for combat don't seem fitting for my liking and that's okay. Every boss can't be a masterpiece for everyone even elden ring suffered from bad boss design imo but good bosses overshadowed the bad ones. I think they will improve with time and make a way better game in the future they have massive potential already.

Precisely recently I managed to play flawlessly with some bosses and it is when the game turns pretty boring.

I had fun when I was playing without having a clue

That's just your opinion, and it's... wrong. It has some of the best fights I've experienced

I just finished chapter 3 and so far only 1 boss fight has stopped the action for animation purposes, just Yellowbrow. Every other boss did not force you to stop moving and their animation was part of a combo or spell cast that you could damage them through or potentially interrupt, you're straight up wrong & exaggerating. Also it sounds like you really don't know how to utilize the dodge function, see through, staff spin, stance switch, or use spells enough. You're complaining that this & souls games don't have combos, transitions, or cancels... they do. I am curious what you wanted this to feel like. Mad you didn't get a monkey themed DMC?

I understand how to use all the mechanics in this game; and everything I said is correct. Bosses continuously retreat and make you chase them or fly out of range and dance in the sky for minutes. For the real boss fights most of their combos can't be interrupted, but can be easily ran away from.

The game is easy, it's just boring. The only cancel you can do is dodge cancelling; cancel combos aren't a thing. There's no actual combos either, and no transition combos because every stance is the same standard combo, just a different heavy. Your moveset is basically spamming light attacks until you have enough focus for a heavy. If you think this is a good action game then you don't play real action games.
