How the ♥♥♥♥ are you supposed to knock him out of his gold from when you need to charge MORE than 1 heavy and you need to attack to gain focus but can't because you can't attack him and you can't charge to use heavy because it take too long and then on top of that, he has UNDODGEABLE grapple attacks?

I am so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ close to activating a cheat engine to give myself infinite health to get past this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Charge attacks. I literally watched someone beat him using charge attacks only so there isn't an excuse.

Get out of the gold area, make him come to you then charge heavy to break him out of it.

man that dude took me 2 tries I don't understand how ppl would struggle with him, just run around charging to 3 focus points with smash stance and then knock him out of the form, you can avoid most of his spells that way, when he circles you, wait a little and then jump out of it

You can also just wait it out, he will come out of his gold form after a while if you make distance. Then just wail on him. That boss is mostly about being patient and timing your attacks.

sprint around him( upgrade that lets you charge while sprinting). A transformation with massive stagger should also have a similar effect. Prob the wind cloak too. Even 1 focus point charge can flinch his bronze form( but I think you will have to land it a second time to break the bronze form, 2 focus point charges should do it in one blow).

Or just wait it out. You can be patient, but you also dont have to be. Try resolute counter flow to make him even easier to stagger, and if its mistimed, the skyfall can still trigger and flinch him, as long as he doesnt hit you too hard.

planting a charge attack needs some knowledge of the moveset + the dmg reduction upgrade which helps the charge attack trade blows.

The move gains massive hyper armor once monkey plants his staff on the ground and can def power through most attacks of yellow brow. Unless monkey is hit before he plants the staff. Dont charge fully and plant early if you feel a move with strong tracking is coming, and you wont be able to just sprint away.

There are a lot of ways to gain focus other than attacking.

You can even just wait him out if you really want to just kiting and avoiding until he reverts.

You don't even need to charge anything, just hit him repeatedly with light attacks and he'll still break out of it

You can just keep bouncing light attacks off him until he breaks.

You can charge up focus for heavy attacks in Smash stance while running.

You can position yourself and charge up focus for Pillar and Thrust.

You can wait him out.

You can understand he will go gold form again so build up focus while fighting and save those focus pips for when he goes gold.

As for his scripted redditor command grab attacks there is nothing you can do as far as I know but they don't hurt too bad.

Basically just do what I did here. Build and save focus while out of gold, then heavy him and spam light attacks to break him out of it. This was on NG+ with the crappy chapter 3 spear, so the fight in the video took a lot longer than it should normally.
