Should I do secret ending for NG+1?
Hi, I'm just wondering if there is a benefit for doing both the secret ending (Erlang fight, right?) and normal ending while I am in NG+1. Phrased differently: will I miss anything if I do not do the secret ending?

yes there is, if you beat the game 3 times with secret/good ending, you'll able to use Wu Kong stance.

Any reason to do the regular ending on NG+? Or is that a waste of time?

All bosses are easy on NG+. I can guarantee that you'll defeat him in less than 3 attempts.

Excellent, thank you!

That's not what I asked. What I asked is whether I should do what I did for regular NG, which is this:

> Final boss for regular ending
> Secret bosses required for good ending
> Final boss again for good ending

Or if I should:
> Secret bosses immediately
> Final boss for good ending and ignore regular ending altogether for NG+ runs.

I'd skip the bad ending if I were you.

So I take it that means there's no benefit to doing the regular ending again.

Oh man you just made me realize I didn't even get the good ending first time >_< I didn't know you have to go back and fight Final boss 2nd time.

tbh i find that stance less viable than your regular one, due to for some reason the "healing on consumed focus" not working with it.

You get the 6th and final end-of-chapter animation when you beat the final boss after the secret bosses. There's no extra phase though or anything. Do keep in mind that most of the original 'bad ending' also plays first before it the good ending stuff starts happening (in case you're wondering if it's working after beating the final boss again).

I apologize I am getting a bit confused. Let me ask this: before I beat the final boss, I actually fought and defeated Erlang first. Then, afterwards, I went and did the final boss. Does that count as a "good" ending?

Yes, that counts as the good ending. The 'bad' ending is the ending you get without doing Erlang. I read that you also get the bad ending if you beat the final boss again after the good ending, but I haven't tried that out myself so I wouldn't know (it's just what I heard).

Thank you, that's great to know. According to IGN, the proper sequence is 1. Fight final boss, 2. Fight Erlang, 3. Fight final boss again - so that's probably correct?

Edit:

Okay, actually maybe you don't need to do final boss twice. Polygon reports:

"(Update, Aug. 26: An earlier version of this guide suggested you need to defeat the final boss before unlocking Mount Mei. You only need to defeat the final boss after completing all of the other objectives listed in this guide, including unlocking Mount Mei. But also, we’d recommend seeing the “original” ending before chasing down the secret ending, so if you haven’t done so yet, go ahead and beat the final boss.)"

Well you'd miss out on an ending by not doing the final boss twice. Not sure if there's an achievement tied to it. If not I guess you could always Youtube it.
