Dammit frog I am disappoint.
Was looking forward to frog spirit being pretty good, spent the entire game killing frogs to upgrade it and the last few weren't easy.

But nope, even the final form sucks. Damage output is incredibly poor, unlike their boss versions that were very powerfully. And the equip bonus sucks as well since stamina is a non-issue.

What? The damage on Frog God is very good. I put it on once it became Mythic and nothing else competes with it. If you make room for the bane curio it does even better. Granted if something is immune to whatever bane you roll it won't do anything or at least very little.

Yeah the passive is garbage but the damage far outweighs the lackluster passive. I am in NG++ and have used it since end of NG.

I tried it on one of the final bosses and the damage is laughable.

Not sure what the difference in the set-up is. I use the curio and I have all the elemental damage in the transformation tree maxed out. I can do about 20% or more of a boss health bar if all hits connect and usually inflict the bane on top of that damage.

did you have the curo eqipted that negate the enemy elemantal resistance ?

No because I was just trying it out. Also have almost nothing in the transformation tree upgraded (and does it work for the spirit transformations even?)

Yeah the game does a poor job of explaining but the (large skills) "Core" skills of the transformation tree apply to you no matter what. The "minor" skills (small skills) of the tree apply to when you are transformed.

The Wizard of Oz monkey Core skill gives you a tiny damage boost every time you kill an enemy and it stacks. Which is trash if it only applies to being transformed. If you level that skill and kill some mobs you can see your damage number go up after each kill. Not great but it is at least something.

Well I used the ignore enemy banes item and the damage did increase significantly to be pretty decent. Just beat the final boss (was a pain in the ass towards the end, he seemed to become invincible for the majority of the time with the last 15-20%), currently working on the secret boss. Thinking of switching to pillar or thrust stance of that boss because smash just misses the majority of the time even if there isn't that much distance. Saving the frog for the final 15% seems like a good idea.
