Insult to injury is that his shield also repairs damage over time. So you can't even lame him out.
Most of his attacks are ok, you gotta look at the axe, when it shines yellow that's when you dodge. The dogs you dodge as soon as they bark, they won't hit you then. The only super BS moves that I can think of are the instant delayed laz0r that takes 60% of your life, or the stupid AoE delayed hammer smash. The needle spam you can dodge, use cloud step or transform into a rock dude which is the best transform for this fight imo. Fan is great in this fight but he can also dodge it by flying.
He also doesn't let you fill in the 4th combo point completely. Whenever I was close he just starts the animation of "haha got you" and throws me across arena, decaying my 4th combo point almost to nothing.
You can hit him with charged Smash attacks. It's during his light attack combos, you basically trade and he gets whacked. You can also sometimes hit him with varied combos. You can also hit him when he charges up his lazor.
Varied combo from thrust worked best, yes.
Smash stance almost never worked for me because he was doing "matrix" move, completely nullifying the damage. He even does that with thrust backstep into 4 combo instant attack, as I said. Even when I deliberatly do this while he is twirling around.
You can use Jingubang, its special ability disables 4th focus bar decay.
its because he is just upset he is getting stomped by a challenging boss, so he has to come up with some post-hoc justification on why its unfun; ultimately its just an emotional rant dressed up as some sort of 'analysis'
I bet if he beat the boss in like 3 attempts he would not be making this post.
Adjust your rhythm
And I find the stab stab stance very useful against him. If you have focus, evade into heavy. Hits everytime.
Gain focus by perfect dodge (if you get to know his attacks)
If you don't have focus, use mobile L2 (arrow defense while moving) to get focus.
Focus on defense and gaining focus.
4 small focus attacks are better than one fully loaded focus attack.
it took me, i dont know...15-20 attemps, dont remeber but i did it, U will too
I have no issue with diffuculty, or trying the same section of games over and over - I have lots of patience.
But the fight is simply not fun.
ground phase 1- Use rock transformation, use the charged ram attack it has. he does not take you out of this transformation and it get's his shield/hp down quite a bit.
ground phase 2- Use hurricane vessel, strips his shield right off. Get insane damage in while he's in the tornado/hurricane.
ground phase 3- Use your Pluck of Many as soon as he hits the ground, start spamming charged heavies (smash stance) and watch his shield and health get obliterated. Any health/shield remaining (if any) just use smash stance varied combos. He can actually be combo'd quite easily here. If you get desperate, you're able to use your transformation at this point again depending how long it took you.
Easy done. It's actually a great fight and I truly believe it was designed to make you think and use all your tools in your arsenal.
Well this one is really a skill issue. Because I started playing the game on a controller, and realized too late that casting spells in MnK would've been way easier and faster.
I actuallly don't like playing on a controller. And the fact that I need to hold RT and then press a face button to activate a spell makes it so that I simply cannot use reactive spells, like rock solid, properly. It requires precise timing to counter specific attacks.
So instead I'm just sticking with cloud step as a way to avoid some massive attacks and have a second to drink from gourd.
