Question about Erlang fight
Is there a lore reason why i can't use the Yin Tiger transformation? He simply turns into a bird, hits me and i turn back to monkey.

Erlang turns into a bird and tiger during the fight and attack with it. Your transformation probably got hit hard and lost all the hp.

there is a chinese proverb that goes "in a single mountain, 2 tiger can't coexist", i guess the dev took that saying literally in this game as he will turn into a giant tiger later...

joke aside, he probably just have a move that will trigger when you use transformation willy-nilly.

He has 72 transformations like Wukong and they typically cancel each other out. Like if Wukong turns into a rat to run away, Erlang turns into a cat.

Bajie has 36 transformations btw.

The only transformation that works is the Rock one because technically Wukong is a Rock. It's not exactly a transformation.

That's interesting. I only used Yellow Loong and it worked. Didn't switch to other forms because it's just too good with the see through focus.

transforming willy-nilly empowers the player. you seem like you really hate the players. what is wrong with you? what stick is shoved so far up you that you wanna see people suffer like you do?

yeah yellow loong works so that pretty much shut down all their dummy answers
this fight is prolly the worst in the game though, input reading, random off-screen hits and stagger you just so the bosses hit connects and you can't dodge. hella cheap.
massive damage from 1 hit of a 20 hit combo. its just trash design. you can tell the crybaby devs just wanted to feel superior by adding trash mechanics that poop over the player.
absolutely terribly designed fight
you're not fighting the fight. you're dodging the entire time its an awful experience.

oh and the sounds? they make it even worse, the timing of the music is off in comparison to the rhythm of the fight, and he has voice lines in-between attacks that just get in the way. and i've had that complaint about MOST of the boss designs of the game.

You are missing a glaring lore issue. In the novel it's very clear that Erlang and Wukong both have exact 72 transformations and a big part of their fight is using transformation to cancel each other out. That's how they fought in the novel outside of clashing steel.

Oh don't bother with the guy. Judging by his tone and comments in other threads, he just wants to bash the game

Just use the rock, Erlang wont transform, it just wont attack you. but you can use get his guard down to really low, transform back and guard break him.

You can use transformations but if he turns into a tiger or bird and clips you you will lose your transformation. He will cancel/steal most of your spells. I have landed an evanescence on him and he just said nope. Cloud step seems to work fine though.

No, I think the game hints that is what they want you to use against him.

I have yet to use it. Rock Solid, Ring of Fire, and Spellbinder I just don't think I'll ever use. Even though you get a transformation that let's you experiment with spells.
