Why are all the women barefoot?

Whether it's lava rock, jungle, village, pools, etc., all the human looking women in this game are barefoot in places that don't make any sense. It's especially weird when they're wearing elaborate dresses with makeup and hair done but can't put on sandals or any footwear.

The same isn't true for the human men, what's the deal with this?

Are the devs inserting their fetish into the game?

Well Rakshasi may not be human but that's her natural form. She doesn't transform into human, she's already human looking since the beginning.

i dont really know what rakshasi is, maybe its go by something else in cantonese. but base on my understanding, what this game called, yaoguai (cantonese, yui ching, japanese yokai) are just being and object that gain sentient and overtime develop humanoid form as a disguise.. eventually depend on their behavior would become neither a demon or gain godhood..

if we are talking about the same thing, than human form arent their natural form.. even Princess Iron Fan who consider to be the most human of all the demon, has a true form which is a giant scorpion.

It stems from foot binding in Ancient China. Look it up. Its abhorrent. They would take a young female girls and tightly bind their feet so the would stay small. IDK if it was because they didn't want women running away lol or something else.

foot binding is only practiced by royalty and noble in ancient china... peasant woman have normal foot because you know, they have to work the field.

i dont think anyone would know for sure why food binding are practice, not to mention, it's not like the western dont have something as equally weird as in victorian era, woman would wear corset that would make their waist as small as possible which make them pass out easily...

every culture and time period have weird practice for beauty standard.

No she's not a giant scorpion. She is one of the 地仙 as in Gods/Deities that live among mortals, not above the cloud, in the Celestial Court.

It seems to be a not so uncommon theme in the depiction of yaoguai in media these days.

And honestly, real humans would not had invented footwear either if they were also less vulnerable to damage from stepping on things that are too sharp/hot/cold/wet/dirty.

Man, these people really are stretching to find something to dunk on the game, smear the devs or chinese culture in general. Only because they are ignorant and cant see further than their own lil culture bubble.

First was a sperm looking symbol, sexist allegations nobody could prove that ended up being an unneccessary smear campaign, the no women part from journos not playing the game, no diversity and inclusion in a game about chinese mythology and now.. barefoot women.

These people remind me of the end chapter animation where people went nuts because of the deity that gave them treasure.
