Fox for potions/upgrades

Hello, my friend doesnt have the fox who creates celestial/mortal potions in Cellar.

He has done the first encounter with the fox, where you defeat giant rat boss, but where is the second ecounter?

He has done the tiger talley at temple and unlocked cellar but he is not there. I’ve tried googling a guide without luck.

Anyone got pointers to the locations he has to go? Cheers.

The first shrine in Chapter 2 has a path that leads down into a cave. He is there and asks you to fight a lightning frog.

Did "your friend" speak to the fox after beating the frog?

the first encounter need to defeat the frog in the pond before the story progresses not giant "rat"?
