Pilgrim Set useless? Attk bonus fades too quickly after sprinting end to take effect.

Okay so long story short my question is does the attack bonus you get from the Pilgrim Set actually last long enough after sprinting stop for it to be useful?

I have done some testing and turned on Damage numbers in settings so I could see its effects.

Okay so from the Temple entrance Shrine if I charge the Focus meter to 3 and execute a charge attack it will do 875 dmg to the first censor holder to the right of the shrine.
SO far it seems like if I am using smash stance and Sprinting while charging and I get 3 focus points stored up and use the heavy attack on an enemy it DOES NOT GET THE PILGRIM SET DMG INCREASE because the smash attack takes too long too execute the animation so the pilgrim set loses its effect by the time the attack lands. It also did 875-885 damage.....

The other stances dont even let you sprint while charging so the only thing i can see pilgrim set being useful for is the initial light attack. SO best case you sprint for 10 seconds and do a light attack......yippeee....I could have hit him so many times in the gap it took to charge the focus meter.

AM I wrong?

Please help me understand how this armor is useful at all?

Edit: I have also tested with Spell binder. It does not make a difference. 1443-1450 is the damage range for a charge heavy at 3 focus points whether I'm Sprinting or not. The animation when I let go takes too long to allow the dmg bonus to apply.

Well, not all armor sets are made equal. I used Pilgrim set early for sprinting speed increase and briefly also tested the attack bonus. The attack bonus applies to initial light attack but that is about it. I would only use 2 pieces for the sprint speed until you get something better.

Okay thank you thats what I wanted to know.....SO its literally only useful for bosses who dont chase you around
