Just Lost 6 Hours of Progress to a Crash
I was playing on my Steam Deck and the game locked up halfway through Chapter 4. I had been playing for about 6 hours. When I rebooted my Steam Deck, it automatically loaded the last Cloud Save, which was from my PC and still in Chapter 3. I don't even feel like playing at this point. There were at least a dozen bosses I had fought.

Your backup saves are located in BlackMythWukong/b1/Saved/SaveGamesBackup

Look in 01RealtimeBackup or 02HourlyBackup, and copy your most recent save files to SaveGames/[YourSteamIDNumber]

Hope this helps

Its not on steam deck, but since the last patch and since I arrived in chapter 3 the game has a tendency to hang every now and then

Check for backup saves. I'm not sure how Steam Deck works but the game on PC have several "real-time" back up saves spaced by 10 minutes and than several "back up saves" that are an hour apart.

You CAN NOT have lost 6 hours of progress, otherwise MULTIPLE save files are corrupted which is definitely not the game's fault. This is something the Steam Deck f'd up.

The game makes progression saves every time you pickup an item, every few minutes, every event. You could have lost 10-15 minutes of gameplay at worst.

If multiple save files are corrupted, best guess is that the little Steam Deck got a little too hot. To lose 6 hours of progress, 600+ (every ~10 mins) auto-saves + all manual saves (resting at a shrine) must have been corrupted (they are not all on your disk as they get overwritten after a certain amount) which is very unlikely.

Launch desktop mode and open your local game files from steam. You'll find all the saves there just replace the current save with the one you want to load

Wish I knew about the backup saves before Scorpion Lord. Would have went back to beat him, but already progressed too far into Chapter 5 to want to go back=(
