Performance issues sub 60 fps
Hi folks, need help ID-ing why I'm getting low frame rates. Settings are mostly High/Medium but getting sub 50 fps as soon as fights start happening and I cant time counters/dodges.

Using the in-game Benchmark Results give me this
Average: 60 fps
Maximum 70 FPS Minimum 46 FPS Low 5th 54 FPS Total VRAM used 5.7 GB
Game Version 1.0.8.14860 Operating System Version 10.0.19045
CPU 13th Gen Intel Core i7-13700KF
Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Driver 560.94 VRAM 24 GM RAM 32 GB

Any ideas/thoughts would be helpful

You have one of the cursed cpu's im affraid :( U may be able to improve it but u probably wont be able to fix it much... Be sure to update ur bios to the latest version to somewhat improve it , otherwise just turn the settings down (not sure if that even matters on that proc...)

I've 13600K and it runs fine. I've had no issues myself with stuttering though i do have disabled E-cores in BIOS, you might want to try that.
Also i would recommend using DLSS in at least Quality mode if you're not doing that already, UE5 games respond extremely well to upscaling.

I turned my global illumination to low and that solved all my FPS problems on a 2080ti/i9-13900k.

He has 3090 lmao he shouldn't have to play at low settings lol
I've 4080 which is like 30% faster and i play with 4k/cinematic preset/dlss 59/fg on and i'm getting like 90-100fps. With high preset and dlss quality he should easily clear 60fps in 4k.

I'm didn't tell him whether it was ethical or not you goofball, I told him what solved my framerate problem. With my hardware I don't have to run at low and shouldn't- the fact is there's something broken about the game's optimization. lmao lol

Without pathtracing, yes.

use this mod BMWK - SPF Redux on nexus mods,, to fix stuttering and improve performance, just drop the engine.ini into your folder as per directions

https://www.nexusmods.com/blackmythwukong/mods/13

im on a 1080TI and am able to get 50-60 constant fps with most settings on medium and 65-70% FSR

I'm pretty much a long time benchamkrer and tech enthusiast but not in the industry of technical tech. But the cpu may be a troubled one. Just make sure you are on the latest system bios and windows version first.

Your gpu is perfect and really your cpu should be fine too. What you are struggling with is likely some latency issues that actually do need optimization. Frame gen should be increasing latency which means turning it off should decrease latency. It doesn't happen like that under most cases currently and I think it's tied to the lower frame rates which means frame gen actually just makes the game better with similar latency.

So you have to have frame gen on in my testing anywhere below 70 or so FPS. I seem to get around 75ms with cinematic settings and full rt with quality dlss on 2k resolution. That's the highest end of so so latency which isn't ideal for this type of game.

So it may be worth turning full ray tracing off and just living with the lumen software RT like amd users and console. It looks just great with even the screen space reflections. By turning off full rt you will be able to turn up the quality of the DLSS to DLAA which is no or minimal upscaling which is nice. As long as you aren't on 4k. 4k needs a 4090 realistically which I do have. But I have a 3090 laptop (4090 laptop is 3090 desktop) that I play at 2k. The 3090 equivalent let's me run cinematic and full rt at 2k dlss quality mode but at 75ms latency and 75fps. Or I run at 50ms latency with rt turned off and keeping the same dlss settings. It's more responsive and looks great still.

So even with Ray Tracing Off and I turn the settings to Ultra, I'm getting only 20 FPS.
The CPU seems to be okay but I'd been worried about that 13th cursed gen anyway so I'm swapping with the 12th Gen.
I'm playing on the resolution of 2924 x 1224 (the 85% image scaling) because it was unplayable at Low even at 4k. No clue why this is the chokepoint but Cyberpunk/Deadlock/Elden Ring run no problem.

Hello for now,
I have tried a lot to get the fpsa problems under control. I have an i9 and a 4090 and was at 40 fps .... but nothing helped. Then I read in a forum that you should turn off the steam overlay for wukong .... and lo and behold ... consistently around 100 fps !?!

I hope this helps others ....

turn off raytracing will give u huge fps boost. lower global illumination to median will give u some bump as well(this doesnt change much with cinematic or median, low = turn off which will give u some bad image but bright cave.). and maybe lock ur frame to 60fps.

View distance is pointles in this game , turn that down u wont notice it...

Hello, how are you, I have also had fps drop problems, having a Lenovo laptop with a 3050 video card, but I have been able to fix it. Update to Windows 11 and download two mods, one for frame generation in Nvidia DSS and another for lag that increases a few fps. Currently I'm doing better, since the game was unplayable in chapter 2 at 10 fps. And I hope it can help you

I'd look into the RMA options. I forget why but some games may proc the issues and not others for whatever reason that I'm forgetting. Yeah it's an issue likely from this. I suspect my laptop will also suffer this fate. I have an Amex platinum that supposedly covers free extended accidental warranties on these prebuilt gaming laptops and premium pcs, so I'm hoping that's true and that if it does doe out I can go that route. For my notebook I think rma will not be supported by razer as they will deny accountability.

U can also increase the display scaling in windows and then boot the game , works everytime cus w11 is that bad xD
