Hi, anyone know a fix to this? Havent played for a few days, must have been a update that have ruined the lightning, calibration is same as before does not help to lower it, light is making the ground almost all white, dark is too dark too....

Same for me. The update seems to have messed up the lighting.

Strange since i cant find anything about this on Google, would say it’s unplayable as it is. Is there no fix to this other then wait for update again?

I just messed around with some of the graphics settings, specifically changing shadows and global illumination, applied them to that different setting, and then changed them back to what they were and applied that, and it looks how it was before the update for me.

The same for me. Don't know how to fix it, because method up there is not working, for me. Or maybe I did something wrong, don't rly know.
If you will find fix, can you please message it here?

I thought it was just me after being away from the game for a couple days

Are you playing on an AMD or older NVIDIA GPU with Ray Tracing disabled & using FSR/XeSS/TSR & Global Illumination & Shadow related settings below Very High?

If yes then your issue should in theory be able to be resolved by bumping up settings which isn’t always feasible.

I experience something similar but only temporarily when transitioning from darker to lighter scenes and vice versa. Especially noticeable when playing at low to medium settings with ray tracing disabled so US5 software lumen on only on my PC handhelds like Asus Rog Ally & Lenovo Legion Go.

Interestingly this is isn’t an issue when enabling ray tracing and very high to cinematic settings on my 4090 PC.

It's Auto Exposure/ Eye Adaptation settings they implemented from UE. Basically, it will scale up/ down the intensity of lighting from dark to lit area, vice versa. It's badly implementation in this game, to be honest, especially from Chapter 4 onward.

It's one of the plagues in the concurrent development settings, including over-saturated Vignette and DoF effect.

yea i notice some weird lightning change when i run pass caves.
its probably changed like so to reduce gpu work load spiking and lead to crash?

I'm using RX 7800 XT with Medium/High settings. Do you think that this will be fixed in next patch?

I have tried to reinstall the game, reset settings and nothing change it, put the brightness to low, ultra settings, low or high Lightning settings.

The menu in the game is just fine but the game itself is broken. Very frustrating that things like this can happen and the only place online i find about it is in my own thread here on steam.

Game have been perfectly fine until now when i returned after a few days. Only changes have been a game update and driver update on the amd adrenaline software. Using rx 7800 xt. Over 30 hours gameplay and suddently this. Very strange that the menu is just fine, tried to turn on and off hdr, no other games on the pc having this problem.

Glad im not the only one, run into a big shadow and you cant see ♥♥♥♥ run outside and its flashbang.

I'm using RTX HDR and it seems similar to before the patch. There are occasional areas where it seems the lighting takes a second to catch up.

Guys, for those, who still encounter this problem. This is what AMD said:

Known Issues:

- Overly dark shadows or desaturated colors may be observed while playing Black Myth: Wukong when Global Illumination is to Medium or higher. Users experiencing this issue may set Global Illumination to Low as a temporary workaround. [Resolution targeted for 24.9.1]

It's not a game problem, it's a new AMD drivers. We'll have to wait till AMD releasing new drivers.
