How to know where to go?

I'm at chapter 2 and that opens at many directions. Isn't there any way to know what is the right path?

I do wish there was a map but im not mad about the lack of it. You just gotta play and remember where youve been and where your going.

Chapter 2 mainly are rings/circles glued to each other. Everywhere is something to explore and you cant really go wrong except you only go the right way.. which would punish you since you would miss a lot.
