Gourd Question
Does the mat that add charges to Gourds only apply to the gourd u give it to?

Just upgrade the base Gourd. The vast majority of gourds you find aren't even upgradeable, so just focus on the one you start with.

Yes, once you use the material, it's spent on that Gourd and you will have to find more.

When you go to upgrade it will show you a pane with the upgrade affects. Old gourd will become medicine gourd and then further change name as you upgrade. It is the only one that gets up to 10 drinks of it but has no bonus affect. When you upgrade you select which gourd/drink. It won't apply to all and can not be reallocated via shrines.
