So what happens to staffs when you upgrade to a new one ?

Im trying to understand where are the earlier staffs that i crafted, as i keep upgrading, the former staff i just used disappears? is this intended? do i have to re-craft if i wanna use another one ?

it stay in ur inventory u can change them just like ur skillset.

Yes, you need to be careful when you craft weapons that are side-grades, ie. different weapon in same category. It seems that if you craft high-end weapon in one part of the tree and want to try the other one, you will lose the first one crafted. You can not freely swap between weapons from the same tree, you can only have one active. You can swap between different type of staffs/spears as you move up or down the weapon selection screen.

Same as armour, presumably you may wish to change what you're carrying/wearing depending on which enemy you are facing...

upgrade paths within the same staff, yes, see it like a baseball bat that u enhance with nails, if u want to go back to baseball bat alone, u can't just take out the nails, cause the holes from the nails destroyed the structural integrity of the bat, so u have to "craft" a new bat

Why do you say it stays in your inventory when it clearly doesn’t? Once you upgrade the staff it turns into a completely new staff, and if you want the old one again you need to recreate it. Which in all honesty is the one thing in this game I would really change. Swapping out weapons to find your playstyle should be easy like Elden ring. Not difficult like this.
