Game practically broken after the update
Significant loss in frame rate. Plus, there's now something off with the the contrast of the game. Bright areas are too bright and dark areas are too dark. I'm in the desert area and everything is so hard to see. I can't even see what I'm doing.

performance got better for me, not to mention windows 11 newest update 24H2 which made Zen 4 and 5 ryzen CPUs perform better.

I wish I could post screenshots here, as I made side by side comparisons in the same spot to show what I mean. In an area where there's a shadow, it's completely black where as before you could still see the details of the terrain. Areas with directly sunlight are completely washed out of details. I didn't change any settings before I noticed this and no change I made after seemed to make any difference. I mean, the update could affect different gpu's differently.

No issues on PC here

I have a 7900xt and my fps before the patch was at a stable 120 on full cinematic. After the update, I can barely reach 20 with all settings on low.

I am having the exact same issue, initially I though I was losing my mind until I went back to some spots I have taken screenshots and the contrast/ brightness is completely messed up. I have not changed any graphical settings but the game seems to be completely messed up.

I figured out my problem, but it's a pretty isolated one. I had to go in and tune my gpu down despite it working before the patch. Not sure why, but that's how it is I guess.

Okay, I figured out the contrast issue at least. There was an update for my GPU today (AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT) and in the release notes there is the following:

Overly dark shadows or desaturated colors may be observed while playing Black Myth: Wukong when Global Illumination is to Medium or higher. Users experiencing this issue may set Global Illumination to Low as a temporary workaround. (Resolution targeted for 24/9/1)

So at least that will be addressed soon. As for the frame rate issues, idk.

Adding to the thread, on a 7900 XTX, the game is extremely dark, incorrectly so. I had massive stuttering issues during a certain boss fight in a cave and multiple crashes, one of them being a full blue screen.

After leaving the cave, the game's contrast was clearly broken, with enemies being practially unseeable due to how dark shadowed areas are.

In summary: framegen does not work properly, performance has taken a disastrous hit (I cannot even recall a single performance issue until this game update since the day 1 title screen crash) and the game's shadowed areas are too dark. The constant crashes against that boss had me at the brink of uninstalling.

Then FSR 50% + FG enable at 8K resolution, cinematic quality, Full RT Off, low FPS in menu, but in game stable FPS.

I simply used DDU and reverted back to 24.7.1, the game now looks correct.
