Well, this might not even be a government thing.

Tencent (WeGame is their platform) has a grudge against Game Science because Game Science's founder used to be a Tencent employee and Tencent told him off when he presented Wukong's pitch to them.

This is likely Tencent's sabotaging Wukong/Game Science.

Game Science is smarter since they get a Steam release though, this would hilariously bomb if it's the WeGame version.

That doesn't change the fact that they are earning money with yhe game now and would be sabotaging themselves. That's a really good way to get sued by your shareholders.

Competition is harsh in China gaming scene, Tencent and Netease would probably want the developers go under so they can buy them for cheap so they can make more mobile/MMO crap.

EDIT: And yes, I mention in the post that is likely self-sabotage, this is common in China.

I keep seeing people say West Taiwan since July I think, at least here. Never bothered to ask before but...
Geographically the PRC China is at the North/East of the ROC China (Taiwan), so why west? What meme did I miss?
