"Ring of fire" seems worse imho
Anyhow, its usefulness greatly differs depending on boss. For some bosses they barely do any damage, don't stun, easily die, etc. For other bosses you can take off 50% to 90% of the boss' life bar before they disappear. And the boss won't be able to do much since it's constantly getting stunned and staggered. It turns them into an absolute joke. And for every boss they don't work well on, there's like 2 that they turn into a breeze.
But yes I do also have an issue at times with them blocking me, pushing me away or pushing the boss out of range. Still for how useful they are, I think it's fine for them to be a little jank. That said, overal I do think they're probably too powerful for how many bosses become a joke with them. Especially if you invest even just a handful of points into them.
You only need a few seconds. If you know the bosses a little bit it's very easy to create a little space in most encounters. Heck even if you don't know them, you can just hang back at the start and look at what they're doing. If you pay a little bit of attention it's easy to find a good moment.
And you thought Mimic tear was cheese
