did you even see what OP posted...that has nothing to do with a cpu degrading, stop being silly.
at the very least restrict the cores in bios but that's obviously your choice
The problem of GPU out of memory errors is linked to instability issues with Intel’s 13th and 14th Gen CPUs, particularly those with 65W power usage or higher. This affects certain desktop processors, including K/KF/KS and 65W non-K variants.
Causes:
CPU power draw: Intel’s 13th and 14th Gen CPUs, when running at default settings, can draw excessive power, causing instability and GPU out of memory errors. Motherboards often provide unlimited power limits by default, exacerbating the issue.
Shader compilation: Unreal Engine games, in particular, are prone to GPU out of memory errors during shader compilation, which can be triggered by the CPU’s high power draw.
Solution:
Undervolt P-cores: Adjusting the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility can help reduce CPU power consumption. For example, underclocking P-cores from x57 to x56 resolved the issue for some users.
Default CPU settings: Intel recommends adhering to default CPU settings and ensuring BIOS is up-to-date to prevent damage and reduce the likelihood of GPU out of memory errors.
CPU power limit reduction: Reducing the CPU power limit to Intel’s default specifications can help alleviate the issue. Rad Game Tools provides a tutorial on how to achieve this.
It shows up when the CPU is doing the pre-shader compilation on UE5 titles so is easy to diagnose.
I already have limitations on the processor, thank you for your concern, but please stop.
