Unreal Engine 5 for games is a terrible engine.
skip every UE5 game like this one and MGS DELTA cuz hooooly moly - with a 4070ti + i7 12700k overclocked this game doesnt manage to hold solid 60fps...

i put everything on cinematic except for render distance (high) and shadows (very high).

ps.: frame generation off + vsync on + 100% super resolution (DLAA/DLSS).

pps.: guys, i'm criticizing a game that i loved and i bought. I just know that the devs have a lot to improve performancewise. its not a hate thread on the game but a loving critic.
You guys will not see me commenting on games i hate.
Hopefully this one will improve like starfield did with the performance part.

THE DLSS FRAME GENERATOR IS NOT ACTIVATED, IF YOU DON'T ACTIVATE DLSS IT WILL BE INACTIVE

i did. i'll tune down the graphics of course, but it's still absurd that a game is THAT demanding nowadays. i hate UE5 through and through - amazing movie engine (used on barbie movie ) but terrible for games even though its good for amateur developers.

agreed but if people want to play they are gonna need to make the changes UNTIL GS patches and what not, cause they will. this game rides on a LOT for foreigner future games.

if u put super resolution at 100% the DLSS becomes DLAA. you can activate FG with it but it kinda "cancels" each other...
i managed to get a solid 60 but its sorta ugly at a close distance xD.
i'm cherry picking here. more sad because i thought it was gonna be a light game just like Sekiro and not a GPU Bomb...

i can only blame on the engine.

UE is a very complex and powerful tool and MOST of those implementing it have no resources to actually use everything it offers and polish their games.
I guess that's the 'other side of the medal' of it being (sort of) free to use.

exactly. i can only hope the metal gear delta devs will give the market a huge show on how to use UE5.

i love wu kong but after this benchmark, i'mma skip it for now :AShade: if they add a demo at least, it would be great. developers should give us more demos of their games since most of them dont know how to use UE5.

you have to realize how silly you are being, you have to look at what the game offers visually to say if its that demanding.
Its not the game's fault that you for some reason think you can max it on your hardware and its not the game's task to make it so that highest settings can even be achieved on current hardware.

This is just such an emotional argument, you dont want to put settings on medium because that makes you feel bad....but it means nothing, they could have just called medium the max settings and called it a day and then suddenly you would proclaim its the best optimized game engine ever......

its like Crysis all over again, stop being silly and drop those settings.

OP shoulda bought a 4090 instead of a 4070Ti if he wanted to play newer games @ max settings....

but a 4070ti should be 100% fine with 1080p 60fps gaming.

Correct

unreal engine overall is bad. ever played a multiplayer game with a controller and noticed packet loss? unreal engine quirk :) but at least the game looks good because shiny graphics are more important than gameplay and responsiveness.

Its like graphics settings don't exist anymore to most people, its cinematic/highest or nothing nowadays. if you want maxed out raytracing and full bells and whistles then you have to get a 2 grand 50 series or lower your graphics. How do you expect graphics to push boundaries if your complaining about the MAX settings.

you think packet loss is somehow connected to a game's engine or a controller.... what?

if you paid 800 quid for a gpu then it's not too unreasonable to expect ultra settings. that is ofc if you are completely clueless about hardware and new technologies which a lot of people are. nothing wrong with it. I can see where the frustration comes from but I'm not surprised current gpus can't hold up ( except for 4090 ).

situation is going to get worse even with blackwell's release which again is using 5nm process but apparently it's been updated. let's hope by 2026 they use 3nm and chiplets and we get some great performance uplift
