is it "sun" or "son" wukong?

in league of legends it's sun wukong and in dragonball z goku is referred to as "son" goku. (he's loosely based on the monkey king)

just wondering which is more lore accurate when it comes to "sun" and "son".

"Son Goku" is not just Japanese adaptation in Dragon Ball, it's literally how Japanese pronounce the Chinese name 孫悟空 in Japanese language, and "Sun Wukong" is English translation of 孫悟空 based on the Chinese Mandarin pronunciation, they all refer to the same name 孫悟空 in Chinese. And "孙"悟空 is written in modern Simplified Chinese, the original written form is Traditional Chinese "孫"悟空 just as I typed. Maybe foreigners can't tell the differences, but as native Chinese I can instantly see the differences.
"孫悟空"(Sun Wukong) is the most authentic original Chinese name.

As the above commenters said, Sun Wukong would be the accurate translation. You can roughly pronounce it as 'Soon Woo Kong' in English.

Dragon Ball ‘s Wukong borrow the name of Ascetic Sun from The Journey to the West. They don't have relationship any more.

I actually prefer Sun Wukong as it sounds more Chinese as opposed to the Japanese Son Goku.
