Don't get me wrong Wu Kong is great but DMC, Bayonetta are basically pioneers of popular elements in action games, and Nier is....well I'll be frank, I'm a 2B simp.
I hate the humor in DMC 5, it is so cringe that I cant believe that people like that. And the combat is meh, I don't like the combo system in general - But that is just MY opinion.
DMC 3 > DMC 5 > DMC 1 > DmC > Nioh 2 > Nioh 1 > Ninja Gaiden 2 > FF SOP > Rise of the Ronin > Onimusha 3 > Sekiro > Nier A > WoLong > Bayo > Granblue re: link > Stellar Blade > Wukong > Heavenly Blade > Dark souls stuff > Witcher
The combat in this games does not hold a candle to games like DMC, Soulstice, Bayo, and should not even be mentioned in the same sentence as them.
Literally a small indie DMC clone like Soulstice has more combat depth, more weapons types, more in depth movelists, more mechanical depth, ...etc then WuKong. WuKong is much closer to a sekiro where the combat is basic repetitive and the only depth is the varied boss fights.
Excuse me, as a member of the cultured weeb sugoinnymous i would like to offer a second opinion.
there is specifically an achievement and it is to highlight Her mole
please look into "mushoku tensei". and the popular idiom "mushoku tensei is my sensei".
in kind regards,
you can also enjoy a particular jen ne se quoi, and turn into a man of culture.
in not so kind regards, i have to rebuttal about the combat, the weapons have combos in the weapons, fast and heavy attacks, in a 3,4,5 hits in a combo. which is a much better way of handling what games had envisioned with stamina based combat.
each weapon handles and performs different with completely different combos, while being simple to the point of only being upgradable 4 times.
simplicity is the greatest form of sophistication. the only reason you think it was spammy, is because you didn't get very far and have a biased opinion.
it's like hitting a boss with your beginner staff and saying "why is the combat so spammy?".
I can respect you having your own top favorite, the reasoning behind stellar blade being ranked low is atrocious. she's modeled by a real person and that korean is a babe. so that's kind of like saying you don't like real girls. and since you chose DMC.. i guess you like dudes? why shame dudes who don't wanna be gay then? oh cause they're not like you. i get it.
you need to get over that.
the combat is extremely deep once you unlock everything (impossible in one single playthrough). The game is rewarding simply for mastering the combat and the enemies, being as stylish and competent as you can. look for high level players gameplay and you'll understand.
