Black Myth has to win GOTY 2024

This game was probably the most anticipated game of 2024 for many, many people including myself, because let’s be real. The Videogame industry has been on decline for a while, and seriously, what other games apart from Wukong were this strongly anticipated?

Final Fantasy 7 Interslop? Persona 3 Reloaded? Tekken 8 ?

Without a doubt I can tell You that Black Myth Wukong was the most anticipated game of the year by quite a sizable margin, the hype around this game was unreal, and many even debated whether or not the game was even real, given how people are so used to fabricated gameplay footage that ends up being fake.

And now that the game it’s out and fans have seen the game with their very own eyes, the hype has only grown stronger, the game has received such a massive commercial and critic success that it has genuinely become a contender for this year’s GOTY.

Because let’s be real, Final Fantasy 7 Remake doesn’t deserve the GOTY. Whoever it was at Square Enix that decided to put the reputation of FF7’s Legacy at jeopardy by allowing Tetsuya Nomura (No-Less) re-write the story of one of most beloved games in videogame history into one of his crackheaded fanfic shenanigans needs to be fired.

And yes Nomura, we see You, your stories are all so very-well written and deep. Now go to sleep champ.

That leaves us with Black Myth Wukong as the only real GOTY Contender for this year. No, seriously… what other games are worthy of the title?

I'm my opinion Game Science has proven that they are capable of making solid games. And don't get me wrong, Black Myth Wukong is not without it's flaws, it's a very flawed game BUT there isn't anything out there than can remotely compete with this game in terms of quality.

The Soundtrack is amazing, the visuals stunning, the gameplay is serviceable, but the abilities, transformations and bosses are a chef kiss. And while the Story/Lore of the game is based on the Journey to the West novel, all of the new additions or expansions to the lore are pretty well-written.

So all in all I think this game is going to be awarded Game of the Year, simply because there isn't anything remotely on this caliber that was released this year.

And no, Helldivers 2 doesn't deserve the GOTY, stop capping Act Man.

Stalker 2 Has been stuck on development hell for quite a while, I don't think it's going to come out in a good state.

I'm eying Dragon Age, the gameplay looks surprising good.

But yeah, so far I don't think any game historically has caught on like WuKong. It's just a solid game.

They did a crime with Hogwarts Legacy, wasn't my goty, but the game that sold the most last year def deserved some nominations.

If the game doesn't win everyone will know that the results were rigged, I've also remembered that these last few "Game Awards" hosted by Geoff Keighley have been a complete disaster and a joke.

Anyways if I remember correctly Steam at the end of the year runs a survey to nominate the GOTY. It will most likely win on the Steam Surveys.
