IGN Japan gives Black Myth: Wukong a 7/10
Apparently Japan didn't fall for the memes, good on them.

Stop bringing in SBI stuff that has nothing to do with the game. Keep it out of here.

Pros
- Boss battles that are unparalleled in both quality and quantity
- Overwhelming graphics and level design with a unique sense
- The concept of fighting by putting everything on the line

Cons
- Lack of variety in fighting styles, basically just hitting with a stick
- The controls feel like you're being pushed around and the camerawork is poor
- A difficult story that requires you to have read Journey to the West

The "lack of variety" part just tells me that this guy hasn't played past the first chapter of the game.

It really is. 7 out of 10 is good.

They didn't bring any interesting points though. The boss rush aspect of the game is something one can indeed be disapointed by.

As is the lack of exploration. But instead they talk about how difficult to follow the story is?

Get out...

7 out of 10 leaves room for improvement, tbh. And there is plenty.

Personally, I would have ranked it around an 8/10, but that's just my preference. I think a 7 is fair. I don't see it being any lower than that if someone is unbiased.

There are enough technical issues combined with linear aspects (looking at you endless invisible walls) that limit it from being higher.

I think with a little better level design (compass and map maybe), slightly more fluid/responsive gameplay, and some other options (weapons perhaps, difficulty settings), etc. it could have been a 9.

I think the studio/dev team has a bright future.

Lol, short? Now I know you're trolling.

Sounds like an average RPG length for a game. Unless you're expecting the Ubisoft 200 hour grind.

IGN also gave Concord a 7/10. On a game that was so bad that Sony took it down in like 2 weeks and gave everyone a refund.
We can safely say that any standards that IGN uses to judge games, cannot be trusted for both good and bad games.
Access media always have a conflict of interest

Well, if 7 is base line, and for games media it is. Then Wukong should be a 10. But, if we are going to honestly use the whole scale... I'd say between 7.5 and 8.5 seems pretty fair.

No concerns with a 7/10...

I personally lean towards 8/10 but I have no issues with this type of rating...

That said IGN is about the WORST source you can get reviews from... I never really trust much of anything they say...
Same thing with polygon...

And? the Game is absolut overhyped. 7/10 is fair. It's just another Souls like game. It's a good Game, but not an Masterpiece.

I would say between a 7 and 8

The reliability of game journos has been in question since 2017, maybe even before that. At the end of the day, the only thing that matters is legitimate audience scores and in-game video.

Just like you shouldn't expect a film journo to accurately rate a movie, the meat of judgement is the audience. Overhype or not, people liked Elden Ring even tho the journos criticized it harshly.

IGN also gave Dustborn a 7/10 so take that for what you won't lol
