its simply because its made by Chinese i haven't played the game but that's how people view Chinese products i live in a country were most products are "made in china" and imported and as soon as someone sees that tag they instantly think its fake and off-brand, can't speak for everyone but assuming its a communist product just because its Chinese is no different from me assuming every black person is a liar and thief (according to stereotypes) just because they are black and that's the same as now everyone don't want to be seen as a racist until its time to be racist and that's just my opinion on that nobody is asking you guys to buy this game to "support commies" its a Chinese story and folklore if you have a problem simply leave it to the audience the game is trying to reach out to

I doubt any of the companies even heard of each other or cared. There were a few articles pointing out controversial takes by someone who is a developer at Game Science that had nothing to do with some consulting company lmao.

I am sure they hired people to poop on them. The writer can't even read chinese, evidently from the machine translated texts, thus how the hell the writer capable of navigating through chinese SNS to dig dirt? Of course they are hired and then given snippets of information to write an article with. DEI already evolved into shady business, it is no longer the noble education on combating racism and sexism. Yep there is no actual evidence for this but with the past history of how these far left activists will engage in campaigns of incessant smearing, cancelling attempts and hive mind social media campaigns to slander anyone who doesn't comply with the woke agenda and speaks out, I could totally believe this was the case.

It is weird how several mainstream companies all started citing what appears to be an intentionally mis-translated quote or two from the devs and they do this smearing all in unison, yeah it smacks of woke mafia extortion in action.

I'm going to assume you aren't just being a troll because its blatantly obvious why western journo's are mad and what their goals are. Its always been DEI agenda pushing. Thats it. This has been the fight for a very long time now.

They are mad because the Wukong developers didn't bend the knee to their demands, so they tried to do a hit piece on the game. They used a comment a developer made and mistranslated to make it seem like they were being sexist. Then the journos did other hit pieces saying that no one is buying the game or whatever and then media comes out showing it to be one of the highest purchased games since Hogwarts Legacy.

Its all about DEI pure and simple. Thats all western entertainment has become. They want to push their ideology into the industry and when it fails they get angry.

Proof is how high their reviews are for concord and dustborn and all they really mention is how diverse the game is. Little to no mention of gameplay but about how diverse the game is and blah blah blah.

Gaming is one of the last footholds that they are trying to infiltrate and take over, except gamers won't shill money for stuff that isn't fun to play.
