Chapter 2 Cutscene/Mini movie Claymation

Holly cow, flipping amazing that cutscene/claymation after Chapter 2 ends. I had no idea elements of this would be so heart felt. That whole cutscene that looked almost claymation was so well done, awesome little story elements to.

Without spoiling anything that it is about, just super well done. I thought this game would be mainly just boss fights in cool environments, but that Chapter 2 ending cutscene/claymation style was awesome, well done devs!

Anyone else see that yet and enjoy it? Surprised the heck out of me!

This cutscene with the claymation looking animation reminded me of this Japanese foreign dvd I own called "The Happiness of The Katakuris". Not the same type of story at all, just how the claymation looking animation was handled, how it looks. They had the start of the movie begin with this claymation opening that was really cool and unique and reminds me of how it was done in this game to.

As far as what happened in this games cutscene at the end of Chapter 2, for some reason the content/story of it made me want to rewatch a Korea movie called "Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring" that I own on DVD.

For some reason this cutscene make me think of this movie instantly, I will rewatch it tonight thanks to this game's chapter 2 cutscene :)

Thank you devs, you guys COOKED on this Chpater 2 cutscene, I can't wait to see more of the Chapter's animatinos :)

You meant fox, fox spirit is dominantly female and many mated with human. Quite a number of people were claimed to have fox mother in East Asian culture, like Abe no Seimei.

fox demon does have a reputation of being very seductive... to the point its a slang for promiscuous woman... there even a stereotype where prostitute would worship fox demon.

Yeah I see you ask this many times LOL, but it seems the short doesn't have anything to do with the plot at all unlike the other shorts.

It might just be a reference that yokai/yaogoai and humans will never mix.

I actually think Jin Ping Mei (金瓶梅) is superior to Red Mansion.

It's an absolutely robbery that Feng Shen isn't in the 4 classics tho, it's pretty much the founding myth for China.

not really, the way i see it, chapter 2's theme is about fallen off the path, if you did the boar brother quest, you get to meet Tiger Vanguard and the final boss when they were good or righteous..

and the ending short story is also about fallen off the path, demon has their own path and mortal has their own path and we shouldnt intermingle as it against the law of nature.

Not really, it's the question if you see a drowning boy and his name is Adolf Hitler, would you let him drown or rescue him? What if he isn't the same Hitler?

It is implied lingji bodhisattva is behind Fuban the Yaoguai that terrorised the Kingdom of Sahali. The Buddha head on Fuban's back is commented to be similar to Lingji head, it's also implied Fuban is someone's Mount. The Yellow Wind Sage did what the scholar in the animation did, he beheaded his master because he believed the Bodhisattva is not actually good and is behind both man and guai suffering.

It's also implied Man and Guai are ultimately oppressed by Immortals and Buddha. The ending painting say the big Yao Guai are ultimately someone's mount, whether they are bigger elephant or tiger, or a beetle.

Tell me about it! Came out of nowhere, such high quality. Had me in my feelings tbh haha.

Did you start Chapter 3 yet? I did, killed like two bosses, but have been noticing some performance issues I hadn't seen before and not sure if that's the game or just me.

So I just played more into Chapter 3 and after I got to the bat transformation and then got to the Dragon boss, my fps went down to 40fps. First time in 18 hours I have had a dip in FPS, so you where def onto something lol, its not just you bud.

No performance issue for me but the stutter is crazy, it's UE5. First boss fight always have this micro freeze when boss do a new attack, subsequent attack doesn't freeze me.

Nevermind. Playing chapter 3 and the cutscene refers to one of the current quests. So I guess chapter 2 has no relevant cutscene.

It's not about Yellow Wind Sage, the chapter 2 ending cutscene provides background story for a Chapter 3 side quest.
