FIXED! - 4090 + 7950x3d + 48GB DDR5 @ 8000 = unplayable?
The intro was really cool but the audio was way out of sync and skipping like crazy. I would see stutters every 5ish seconds (I know UE5 can do this occasionally). Past the intro the game practically freezes for half a second while running around (did this about 10 times over the course of 1-minute). The audio issues are also still present.

I did DL the day1 driver from Nvidia and made sure all my system updates/drivers were good. My PC build is only 1-week old and I only have a few games installed. I think we will see better optimizations with Nvidia and updates from the devs.

I have the game locked at 60FPS and the GPU sits around 50-60% with the CPU sitting around 20%. When the freezing occurs the GPU spikes to 100%, FPS hits 0 until it un-freezes and everything returns to normal. My Main SSD is a Samsung 990 Pro

I know it will get better but its disappointing enough that I will refund and play it at a later date. I hope others are having a better experience.

you are not the only one.... same here. Couldnt fix so i refunded the game. hope it get better soon.

I think the 7950X3D causes your problems because this CPU still has some issues when it comes to core parking and gaming performance in many cases. Try to disable CCD1 and check the game performance then.

I guess you have yet to learn the ways of Process Lasso.

Something wrong with your rig: I have an i9-12900K @ 5.5GHz, 64GB Ram, RTX 4090, and I run at 144 FPS with all settings at max in 1440p. If I go up to 4K, then the performance will drop the FPS down around to 72FPS.

Yeah that could be a problem for sure but would it would make the game unplayable? I have not looked into the core parking situation deeply but I think it's just the system not knowing what CCU chiplet should be used. Best case it uses my 3d cache chiplet, worse case it uses the non-3d cache chiplet. I would imagine the non-3d cache CCU would just provide lower performance but not poor performance. The 7950x3d is a essentially a 7800x3d and a regularly 7800x. No way a 7800x cpu would have these kind of troubles. I could be way off and should do some research but the Wukong benchmark tool was perfectly fine and I play other games that don't have these issues (at least so far).

I appreciate the feedback!

That is a good program but far from perfect. I could try it in this situation, but I usually disable it when it interferes with other programs that I use.

Apply this fix to eliminate the stuttering - https://www.nexusmods.com/blackmythwukong/mods/8?tab=description

It's basically the same thing as Process Lasso mentioned by one of the users above

No issues with my 7950x3d it is updated and running the latest chipset drivers which is important. It is paired with 2x 48gb sticks.

I guess you should follow these steps.

That's an unfortunate experience. I have the 7800X3D and 4090 along with Samsung 990 Pro. First day loading had stutter issues but that's primarily due to shader compilations. I did recall the game freezing once on the first day. So far into chapter 3, I haven't had any severe stutter from other sources other than shader compilations and haven't had any freeze.

Please do this!

and do chipset update.

I have a RX 7900 XT and I had to turn ray tracing off, borderless window on, lock frame rate at 60, turn off frame generator, and drop the resolution down to 1080p and let me GPU upscale native, and turn off MOTION BLUR!!! Then I had constant and smooth game play. Turning off the RT will help tremendously, for some reason it is unstable.

There’s definitely something wrong with your setup, configuration, drivers, other programs, or your own tweaks including UVs/OCs…

This game is likely the most benchmarked and performance tested game at launch with PC hardware configurations including yours. I’m playing on 13900/4090 32GB RAM running MSI AB, RTSS, Throttlestop & recording software at same time with the game. I get at 80-125FPS+ running maxed out settings with non of the issues you raised.

To be clear this game needs more optimisation but what you’ve described is beyond optimisation issues like using an older DLSS ver, some fizzling artefacts when DLSS is dialled too low etc. Sounds like you either have a bottleneck caused by CPU/GPU not running right or something else on your end… I say this because we all get the same game repo to execute and play. There’s no different branches of code for you vs. me on pc. So if most other players and testers that have uploaded their gameplay with nil issues are playing fine; the issue is unfortunately your end. I hope you do get to a fix and is able to enjoy the game. Good luck

I'd also agree there is a system issue. I am using an older AMD 5900x paired with a Strix RTX 4090, 64gb ddr4 ram and SSDs. So my system is very high end but not the latest with the CPU and Ram. I am not getting anything but a super smooth experience on this desktop. Now my laptop with a i9 13950h paired with an RTX 4090 (mobile is about a desktop 3090) seems to stutter and struggle more in UE5 games. However I am not getting the stutters in this game that I do in others. I do find the system latency for both systems is very high and makes the game seem laggy which results with all the frame generation and upscaling options and other UE5 suite features.

I'd consider verifying the files, updating your system bios, firmware, and all drivers in device manager. If that doesn't work look into the core parking fixes (I never did those as it's not something I want to be using and switching between games). Hope you find the fix.

Your RAM is too fast for my liking. It might be the problem. My 6400 RAM performs perfectly.

Just got a new computer with RTX 4070 and i7-14700

Game is running perfectly fine for me even on cinema. I know some people have issues due to hardware incompatibility or driver.
